I understand now why Carowinds has cut back a little bit with their 2019 season, but I just don’t see why some of these changes are for the better. Here’s a big one: why wouldn’t they extend Carolina Harbor hours on 4th of July to be open until 8pm? They do it with Carowinds every year on the 4th so why not with the waterpark too? Also, from March-May on fridays they close at 8. I understand that there are a ton of school field trips to Carowinds during this time and it is a long day, but closing at 8 on a Friday night just doesn’t seem right to me.

I want to remind people that you are looking at the schedule today, in the off season. Hasn't the park extended hours/days during the season? Lets just hope they do good enough to warrant extending the hours and days. Arguing over park hours right now before the park has even open for the season is kinda funny (hell, arguing over parks hours itself is kinda funny) . . . but continue.

Where do you guys think Copperhead Strike will fall in ridership? 2nd or 3rd? I know it cant hault as many people as Intimidator, but I guess the shorter ride time might make up for that? I think it will be 3rd.

All the major attractions on the list were down in ridership 2017 vs 2018, which seems to be more related to lower attendance than slower dispatches. I recall second quarter 2018 CF reported lower attendance than expected, also I can’t be the only one where the heat turns me away from the park in the summer. I wouldn’t call a Camp Snoopy upgrade an “off year” but it certainly could have kept some thrill seekers from getting pass in 2018 and waiting on 2019. Not everyone gets a pass every year like we do.

I do wonder what the target ridership for Coperhead Strike will be? 1M? It just won’t have the throughput to reach Fury/Intimidator numbers I don’t believe, plus with it being in the back of the park. I’m not saying it won’t be a hit and we will see some long lines, but other popular rides like Maverick are usually bested by the B&Ms with beast capacity and prime spots are the front of the park (Dominator, Gatekeeper, Intimidator, etc).

Interesting that this year they had "at least (a nice round number)" rides, while 2017 gave a very specific ride counts.
