Where can I find the new park map?

Nothing relating to RRR, but can I say WTF for Carowinds taking the map I scanned from 2009 in this thread - viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2792&p=32962 - to put in their tweet?

Lol, I would think that the park map is copyright protected so technically it is theirs.

Atleast they didn’t remove your name and/or not credit you as the source. They have done this a couple times to Carowinds Early Years.

Btw, I am not suggesting making a scan or digital copy of park maps for your or anyone’s collection is illegal.

I'm sad to see it go. It was really the only way to cool off in this park. Maybe they should consider replacing it with another first aid station on that side for people affected by the heat. (Sarcasm there) Orlando parks have many places that are cool and shady or air conditioned to rest. The dry park water rides here had long lines in part due to people wanting a way to cool off without having to bring swimsuits and do the water park. Honestly we rarely use the water park and if we do we don't do both sides of the park the same day. We love the coasters but the heat really bothers us and they need more areas to cool off and take a break.

after seeing the AmusementInsiders video on the new park map, I had a few things run through my mind:
I'm not sad to see it go, i'm not too disappointed to see it go. I am not a fan of water rides, but I know this ride had its history and its fans.
It was also a parts donor to the rapids ride at CW. Therefore i don't think it's getting upgraded.
AmusementInsiders said that it could be replaced with a wing coaster or a dive coaster. I think otherwise. I'd like to see a GCI or a small rmc take that plot since it is fairly big. A family launch is also possible, something along the lines of the backlot stunt coasters.

ALSO: it is in a very lush, jungle-esque area of the park, so a nice out-and-back GCI or RMC would be the most phenomenal coaster settings in the area.

People are still thinking coasters even after the 4th quarter results stuff came out and they state they are investing in more events and family oriented things for the parks? They also went and basically state coaster installations can be spread out more as far as frequency but people still think they will use the area for a coaster?

As far as I know (and I really don't know much but I know more than I don't  ) A decision has not been made BUT the choice to remove it completely is not on the table (but it's not out of the window). The company is looking to see how the renovation of Bigfoot Rapids does overall before making a final decision so it maybe 2021 before we see anything happen to RRR as they may already have their 2020 plans in the pipeline and approved.

With that being said, I think its a little premature to state that it's gone for good or to say it will, in fact, get the Knott's treatment because nothing has been decided (well, nothing has been decided that they want to talk about) just yet. I do feel it is interesting and invigorating because nothing is that predictable anymore when it comes to the Carowinds and Cedar Fair as a whole.

okay i see what you're saying. While it may or may not be used for a coaster, i'd like to see some form of coaster (big or small) take up the area. Maybe like one of those gravity group family woodies in a new jungle-themed family area. I just hope more great coasters are in the future of carowinds.

I’d trust the guy at the dippin dots stand over Amusement Insiders silly speculation. He’s just feeding his fans coaster nonsense for clicks.

I disagree with a lot of his predictions, but I get some of his news for ride removals and construction updates.

This also just came to mind since you said Dippin Dots: Granny's Jam flavored dippin dots?

Honestly, the park will have 14 coasters as of March 22nd. At this point it should be more about quality vs quantity. I wouldn't mind waiting 6 or 7+ years for another coaster that's fleshed out and all around great. Sidebar, I think the next coaster the park does get will cater to the 42-44" crowd as the park has only two coaster they can ride.

Also, the park is exploiting their Carolina ties and heritage so I don't know how a jungle theme could fit into that.

I really don't know why I said jungle, but in that RRR area, it reminded me of a lush forest or jungle. I think they will keep all of the flora in that area, since it is very pretty. Maybe they could try a coastal- area since the boardwalk area doesn't exactly represent what the actual carolina boardwalk looks and feels like. I'm out of ideas.

I also have thought about the time for a new coaster a bit more. I'm fine with waiting about 5-6 years, as usual.

Out of curiosity, what do you think the park would install to cater to that demographic? I definitely see that it could be an addition to Camp Snoopy, I'm just not up on what the manufacturers have on offer these days.

if they renovate the boardwalk area, there are a few things to note: Look up pictures of Myrtle Beach, SC. I would like to see a ferris wheel come to that area, between the drop tower and the carolina cyclone/flying cobras area. Also, this might be a stretch, but maybe we could give hurler a traditional boardwalk theme and paint it white, and then give it a great light package. This is supposed to mimic the Swamp Fox rollercoaster in the previously mentioned Myrtle Beach. If we created a new path to connect boardwalk area and thrill zone, that would be cool.
