The question of lighting on the trains was asked at the Winter Warm-Up. Steve Jackson hinted at surprises to come, without confirming.

I asked the question about a lighting package, not specific to the trains. They said it will not have a lighting package because they want to be fairly dark at night. He said there will be some lights on the ground aimed up towards the track in certain places, but that's it outside of the barn and station, of course.
Did someone else ask something about lighting the trains? I may have missed that.

Linked right before the question. It's hard to hear, but I think he asks "Every other [some type] of coaster I know has headlights and [lighting] on the train. Will CS have the same effects?"

Steve replies, "I think we're gonna have to wait and see on that one. You can make any inference you like, though."

Your question was two questions later.

if they have the headlights on the train working, that would be the greatest thing to ever happen to this ride.

Just imagine it.

you're blasting through those twisty turns and all you can see is the small section of track in front of you. It'd be really sick.

Woo! And with three weeks to go, there shouldn't be any issues having it ready to go for opening weekend.

Honestly, I'd do it for free, just for the view.

Safety gear provided by Carowinds, of course.
