^^^ I would be in favor of gutting Boo Blasters and converting it back into a theater.

Then, build a better, unique dark ride elsewhere.

that could work, make it look antique and have a fair amount of seating. THEN- you take that theater that is near the pizza joint and turn that whole building and the stuff that's connected to it (practice rooms, etc) and turn that building into a dark ride.

Carowinds Theater isn’t going anywhere. It’s a high capacity indoor venue, and it’s the designated spot for Carowinds’ major live shows and school band events.

I would be in favor of them converting Boo Blasters into a theater though. Redrunner and I have talked about how it would be great if they brought back “Phantom of the Opry” as a special effects show like Mystery Lodge (KBF), since that show used to play in the building when it was still Harmony Hall.

I think it could also work as a museum like Cedar Points one. Restore it to how it looked as Harmony Hall, put that one dudes park entrance model in there or coaster models. I’m sure there is still stuff at the park and elsewhere that would be cool for guests to see.

True. I don't think the Carowinds Theater is leaving soon. In fact, i'm playing there when I go in april for my school band trip. If they could work a little more seating and decoration in there though, that'd be great.

I wasn't suggesting getting rid of the Carowinds theater. We need MORE indoor showplaces, not less.

One thing they COULD do is convert it back to like it was when it was Harmony Hall and have stage productions there as in the past. They could also bring in risers and hold the chorus competition events in there. (In case you don't know, they do the chorus competition events in the unused side of PvZ just like they do band and orchestra in Carowinds Theater.) Moving them from PvZ to the old Harmony Hall building would then open the possibility of using the PvZ building for something new or the possibility of razing it fin favor of building something else.

As far the the theater, I've always thought it would look good to have a lighted Marque or maybe some mock ticket booths, Make it look more like a theater on the outside.

We don't need a museum. At least not inside the park. Waste of space.

I'm willing to bet that model of volcano is still in the theater tho. Not sure as I haven't been inside there in years.

How we ended up with the model is beyond me but it was there for a good 10 years.

Though I think displaying that would just make people salty af lol

As for the theater, it just needs a facade. Easy. Cheap fix

To be fair tho. A brand new theater could be nice too. It is extremely undersized for what it's used for. If anyone has seen the backstage areas you'll understand. Very tight, cramped quarters for performers, crew and carpenters.

I'd be happy with just a facade tho lol.

2020 Wishlist: Carolina Cyclone 40th Anniversary

Image

New sign, new color scheme (orange track / white supports), re-enclosed helix with mist sprayers to simulate tropical winds, and brand-new seafoam blue trains with comfortable vest restraints (like Flying Cobras!) to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the world's first rollercoaster to go upside-down four times!

Image

Feels like I've been wishing for this one for sooooo long, but it would be amazing if 2020 was finally the year that Cyclone got some much-needed, much-deserved TLC. <3

I'd vote for that... if nothing else to get more comfortable trains and restraints. I normally don't ride cyclone anymore not because it's a bad ride but because its a painful and uncomfortable ride.

I totally love that idea. If we could get some next-gen vekoma trains (like the ones on Flying Cobras) with some leg room, that would be a major improvement to the ride experience. The trains already in place don't really make the ride painful (Other than the transition into the double corkscrew) but you have no wiggle room, especially with your legs. the tunnel idea sounds really cool too, and it'd be a quick and easy thing to make, considering that the helix is mostly underground. I am totally in if carowinds decides to spruce the ride up a little.

Aight, since some of y'all want the rapids area to be transformed into a Lowcountry/swamp type area, I tweaked my Pirate Island concept into something more appealing:

This is Lowcountry. The attractions consist of:

Jalopy Junction: The is the anchor attraction of the land. It's a throwback to Hillbilly Jalopies, with a new storyline:

Every year, the Lowcountry hosts a jalopy race. Beat-up cars from across the Carolinas, on their last legs, are given one last chance to shine by taking part in this competition. Fly over swamps, dive under hollow and fallen trees, and say hello to Carolina wildlife on this one-of-a-kind, family-friendly antique autos ride.

The ride would have two side-by-side tracks, with multiple two-seater cars, and part of it would extend over RRR's retention pond and into the storage areas by Fury. It would be similar to Tomorrowland Speedway/Autopia, but with better scenery and theming. Some of the wildlife (animatronics) would consist of alligators, snakes, bobcats, and deer. Essentially anything you can find in Eastern NC or SC could be included. I also think part of the section near Fury could be enclosed into a show building, themed to an abandoned fireworks factory, just to give the ride something more to look at than just trees and animals.

Twist 'n' Splash: At this point, I'm just beating a dead horse with a stick. The name would be Powder Keg: Barrel Blast as a throwback to the park's log flume.

Lowcountry Canoes: This would be another revived attraction, as the park used to have an attraction named War Canoes in the Indian Thicket section. The canoes would travel across the swamp, completely surrounding Lowcountry, and traveling under walkways and Jalopy Junction. The wildlife found on Jalopy Junction could also be spotted from the canoes. Each canoe would have up to 16 people, and there would be a guide at the front of the boat.

Interactive Playground: So part of this would be a dock-like structure, where guests can pretend to fish (mounted fishing rod that pulls up a prop fish, maybe a rod that pulls up an alligator). The two boats on top of Chickie's and Pete's would be relocated and incorporated here. The dock would lead to three islands, connected by bridges, and each one would have some sort of interactive element on it. This is the Forbidden Frontier-style attraction, but in a more compact and smaller space.

Restaurant/Gift Shop: The restaurant would be similar to a cracker barrel, but with the decor of a Bass Pro Shop.

A. Cyclone totally refurbished
B. Bulldozed for a new attraction

There is really only one option that's viable for the park . . .
