To previous statement I saw, this year i have definitely seen a slower pace in dispatching. A lot of waiting for dispatch. From Fury to Goldrusher to Afterburn. I dont know whats going on. Copperhead strike I can see because its new etc. etc. But the other major coasters should not have that problem

Noticed this as well on Monday. Windseeker and Glider operations were a complete joke. Solid 2-5 minutes between dispatches. I’m not asking for 30 second dispatches every time, especially not on a ride like Windseeker which holds 64 people. But good God, if I can watch Copperhead cycle 5+ trains while I’m waiting for the ride to start, we have an issue.

With the majority of their staff being local students I imagine they have rather high turnover, many employees are still new so hopefully it’ll improve as they get more comfortable/trained in the job.

We all know CP has some amazing operations, lot of that may have to do with the dorms. Allows the park to employ people from abroad that will just live and breathe ride operations 24/7 all summer. Hopefully we may see similar results with the dorms they’re building here.

Maybe it's just me, but I tend to work harder when I start a job.

If I saw that the delay was due to them getting used to the job, I'd understand. But it seems to be a general lack of not caring. They leisurely walk around from point to point, and don't seem to understand that a little more effort means more people through your ride and, generally, happier people. I've never heard of someone complaining at how quickly they made it through a line.

I know CS, Fury, and Intimidator get the best crews. But if we could have half the drive these crews on all the rides, dispatch times would be a lot faster.

The problem is that Cedar Fair tends to pay bottom-of-the-barrel wages, so that's the kind of employees they get.

Even fast food pays 10-12 bucks an hour these days, and there's overtime after 40 hours.

Ugh. Wonderful for them.

What state does Carowinds fall for labor laws? Their "official" address (300 Carowinds Blvd, Charlotte) is technically in South Carolina, though I believe their offices are down the road in North Carolina.

This was my main complaint. They act like they don't give a s and wish they weren't there. I realize that is an understandable sentiment when you are being paid minimum wage but it looks to me like the supervisors and higher ups would try to put a stop to it. It not only causes paying guests to complain and grumble about their experience but the longer people are standing in line the less money they are spending on food, drinks and merchandise so from a management standpoint they have several reasons to try and change the behavior.

No "Charlotte" address is in South Carolina. If it's across the state line, it's considered "Fort Mill". So, if Carowinds address is listed as "300 Carowinds Blvd, Charlotte" then it would technically be in NORTH Carolina.

Carowinds employment office is in North Carolina. Not sure how labor laws are applied when you work in multiple states. Or taxes on your salary for that matter.

Just stating what's out there. Carowinds lists their address as 300 Carowinds Blvd, Charlotte NC 28273. The ZIP code is a NC one, covering the area that includes the NC side of Carowinds.

If you look at Google Maps, the Cracker Barrel is 295 Carowinds Blvd; QuikTrip is 265. That puts 300 basically across the street from Cracker Barrel (around the entrance road to Carowinds). This is all in the SC side of Carowinds Blvd. Once you pass into NC, you're in the 14400 block. Nothing close to 300.

Their address is technically in South Carolina. But I know businesses can use any address that's inside their property line. I certainly wasn't trying to start a debate on USPS address, just found it odd they were mixing the two states.

Interesting. They use both:

https://www.carowinds.com/explore/directions - 14523 Carowinds Blvd
https://www.carowinds.com/help/contact-us - 300 Carowinds Blvd

The 14523 puts them around Catawba Trce, where you go to get to Camp Wilderness. I'd think they'd use that address for official business and the 300 as their "how to get to us" address, as it's the entrance to Avenue of the Carolinas (which technically never goes into North Carolina, so more like Avenue of the Carolina).

It looks like Electro-Spin has been taken off of the schedule ride closures list. The only four remaining are Drop Tower, Yo-Yo, and the two upcharge rides.
