General Carowinds discussion

“So now it can work that way?”

I NEVER said that it COULDN’T happen! I gave general statements about that (what he said) not being the typical way it happens. COULD it happen? Yes. Its not an absolute that it COULDN’T happen.

“You're the one who jumped to the conclusion that "the park" decided to build a RMC, and is now trying to figure out how to make it happen. ”

Mcfly! Hello McFly!! Did...did you even read ANY of his posts? You’re putting words in my mouth and you’re dismissing DIRECT statents he made. Like this:

“I’ve been told that they are in the process of figuring out how to get an RMC.”

What the Eff was I supposed to infer from that statement other than he was saying “that "the park" decided to build a RMC, and is now trying to figure out how to make it happen. ””??!!??

Please enlighten me as to what other meaning that sentence has. The statement is wrong.

Not only that, but he’s posted several times about HIM wanting an RMC, and on 5-29 he said he’d like them to get one. Then all of a sudden he has friends in upper management telling him stuff that I promise you isn’t true. The park isn’t having companies bid on the next big coaster. Because they just got one. The park hasn’t chosen RMC for something they aren’t that far in the planning stages of yet. And no one has told him anything else. No one in park management would tell him that information. Promise.

You said in no uncertain terms "It doesnt happen that way." And made it pretty clear it was ridiculous to even think it could.
Please enlighten me as to what other meaning that systems has.

Already done.
And no one has told him anything else. No one in park management would tell him that information.

As I said, say he's wrong all you want. But you didnt, you dismissed as not even being a possibility.

Please quote where I said ‘couldnt’ Please. Because I never said it couldn’t happen.

I said “that’s not how it works”. If you’re too stupid to understand that that sentence in English has the “in most cases” after the word ‘works’ implied, then I can’t help that you deal in absolutes and have a comprehension problem. Because that’s not what I said.

There are plenty of things that don’t work a certain way 9 out of 10 times. Or even 99 out of 100 times. No where did I say that something could not happen.

But I did confirm that in this case it IS NOT happening. Because it’s not.

So this is what it is like to watch an endless stupid arguement....

Every one of your responses has included a pretty hard period at the end of "this is how it works". You can call me stupid all you want, my whole point has been about how there can be more to the planning process, and you've repeatedly rebuked it with a definitive "no".

And just to note, just a few days back I specifically asked why anyone going to the park would care who manufactured any particular ride. So no, I have no bias about "needing a RMC", I still have no clue what "a RMC" even supposedly means (beyond who the check gets written to). I agree that they dont start with a manufacturer; who builds it is one of the last steps and is irrelevant from the public's perspective. But there are plenty of reasons why a manufacturer's name may come up as plans are being developed.

You keep changing the argument. First I was hung up on funding. Then I was incorrect about how things at a company I’m familiar with does things. Then it was that I jumped to conclusions.

Pick an argument, argue it correctly, and stick with it.

If you can’t see that RMC is more than just who the check is written to, then there is no argument. It’s far more than that. You live in a zero sum world where you can’t understand implications unless it fits your narrative.

You’re talking about how other companies do things. I’m talking about how Cedar Fair does things, in general. Because I have first and second hand knowledge of how they handle some of their planning. I’m not guessing. I’m going off of conversations I’ve had with actual people, on both sides, cedar fair and vendors/ride manufacturers.

Too soon.

 And I am supposed to care?
The quoted line was reference to the Shoot the Rapids accident not even an accident that happened at Carowinds.

This just highlights the fact that you dont bother reading what you respond to. You've railed on how there's no preference and RMC only bids for projects like any other manufacturer, now you're saying there is more to their involvement than submitting the winning bid.

I give up, I defer to your knowledge. Everyone wakes up in the morning to find a project spontaneously materialized. It's put out to bid, if the bids are higher than the budget, the project is scrapped. This is how Cedar Fair operates. Got it.

Upper management told me to get this topic back on topic.

I wish Carowinds would do some major updating to Boo Blasters.

I wish we had a tram running on busy days it's a lot to walk when South gate it closed

I wish we could turn Fury to a wing coaster hahaha. (Really wishful thinking)
