I have a profile but I don't seem to have the rewards entitlements showing up for my gold pass. I wonder if they're only offering it to newly purchased passes and have not yet rolled it out to renewals.

As far as I’m aware, the perks don’t show up on the website. They are emailed to you. Additionally, I don’t think it will tell you anywhere on the website if you’re “enrolled” or not. By having that account and adding your pass, you should be automatically enrolled.

It’s not only for new passes, it’s for renewals as well.

I got an email about it in mid may. Had already registered my gold on the website in March after buying fast passes for the season. It took nearly 4 weeks to get my reward email. If you click the profile link (it's the little head) and your Pass number is there, you should be good to go.

I don’t know what they did to Cyclone, but it was really smooth today. I was also able to avoid head banging without having to brace, so I could fully enjoy the ride. Probably my 5th or 6th favorite coaster in the park, I’m gonna try to ride it more often.

What's up with the Cirque show? 2017 was the first year we saw it, and thought it was really impressive, integrated show (admittedly, being my first show it was viewed without any standards or expectations). Last year, it was just a bunch of random circus sideshow acts. This year, it's the same as last year but with half the stuff. The performers are all really good at what they do, it just doesnt seem like the show itself is all that put together.

I was afraid it would be the same show as last year because the website shows the same performers & pictures as they did in 2018.

Still a good place to cool down on a hot day.

The Cirque shows typically run two seasons at each park. Then they change up the theme of the show.

I’d imagine CF runs it for two years because it’s cheaper than having the production company come in and bring in new sets and costumes every year.

But why pare down the show, as Glitch99 mentioned? Maybe they lost some of the acts and are cobbling together what they can this year? If so, maybe some new acts will show up later in the season?

I haven’t seen it to know what/if they cut stuff. It’s early, the show just started, so it could be a lot of different things.

Regardless, I was responding to Wood Coaster wondering if it was going to be the same show as last year, and it is. They keep the show typically on a two year rotation.

I personally love the show but it is my understanding one of the raccoons got injured when they were rehearsing and he will be back soon and also the juggler who I think is different I heard he broke his finger while rehearsing and he also will be back soon. And yes from what I understand they do run the shows as someone else mentioned every two years. Still a great show And very talented performers. it’s a good way to get out of the heat.

That's good to hear. Maybe we'll check it out soon and then watch again later in the season to see how it changes. I would have thought a show like that would rotate the acts through the year, but I can also see how that could mess up a bit with the overarching story of the show.

That makes sense. A show like this I wouldnt expect to have understudies on standby, so they have to adapt when someone isnt available. It wasnt a noticeable absence, besides the fact we saw the same show last year and knew certain elements were missing.

And yes, the performers are crazy-good. I may be idealizing the memory of the previous show (we were blown away by the caliber, especially after spending the past few summers watching those glorious Tweetsie "shows"), but it seemed like a lot more of a cohesive, integrated performance, than a series of random individual acts. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I'm sure we'll watch it another 3-4 times this season because it is enjoyable and impressive.

Apparently the park listens to guest concerns and addresses them. I noticed that the guest experience is greatly improved over previous years. Yesterday, a slow Tuesday, the park was hitting on all gears. Most of the rides were fully staffed and they were dispatched fast. Intimidator has had staffing issues every since Fury opened. That was not the case on Tuesday. Afterburn ran one train, which is fine on a slow day, but it was fully staffed and the line moved quickly. I was actually able to ride all the flats, which is something I was never able to do because of the slow loading with one operator.

The park was also very clean, I did not see old gum on the pavers. I do wish someone would climb up to the top of Intimidator's shed and sweep up those scrunchies. :wtf: The landscaping was impeccable and I did not see much worn and peeling paint either.

Good job Carowinds!

What is up with that? Is it the modern-day equivalent to a gum wall? I don't see how all those hair accessories end up there accidentally.

^ I have no problem with it. I love it; it’s a tradition lol. I miss the gum wall but it’s resurfacing in Goldrusher’s brake run. I love it.

Well two have flown back to the coop. Lol
