None really. I'm gonna try to say this to not diminish any ones' role. From my understanding, they can have some pull and say so but they aren't the ones making the big decisions like what coaster is coming and when. Since 2015 she was the 4th one (the person there before mike, mike, brad and pat) and we can see the park hasn't missed a beat. While I am sure she has more influence than say John Taylor  , it is my understand they all work as a team at carowinds, uncle Jerry and all. Now, I would be worried if the latter two were leaving the park as they have been there since the beginning of time and without a doubt has molded the park into what it is now.

With that being said, I would hate to see Pat leave as I do like her take and execution of things at Carowinds and Kings Dominion.

What’s up with the bulldozers and backhoes on the site between the toll booth where you pay to park if you don’t have a season pass and the main lot where you park? New survey stakes and markings also up in this general area.

They had some pipes in the area where the black barricades are up. Either than that I haven’t seen anything else. Most likely installing piping and then expanding the parking lot (it’s going to happen eventually in the next few years)

I just don't get standing in line to "pretend" drive one that goes 5 miles an hour on a track, or pay an upcharge for a lame gokart. No antique cars please, No go carts please.

You do know you are just `1 of the 2+million guest right? They aren't building things just for you.

Really? I had NO idea? I thought this was, you know, a speculation thread on a forum where people could have opinions. I gave mine. You replied with snark. Can I sit at the cool kids table like they let you sit? I swear some of the people here act so entitled it's ridiculous. Excuse me while I get my Flame suit on from you and your buds.

Your opinions are open to criticism as it’s a public forum.

Here’s a picture from a few days ago of the area where it sinks down near the parking booths. I don’t think they’re expanding it where they did in 2015 where fury is. I think they’re just expanding it where intimidator is since they will most likely expand into the parking lot there with the Dino alive land. But I could be wrong

The park is making more parking available closer to the main entrance... Once this is complete - they will tear down South Gate.

The parking lot is a giant L shape... If most of the parking can be closer to the entrance, this would make it easier for park guests... Which increases their enjoyment rate/upsell/return visit etc.

I really wish they wouldn't. Not for any reason for myself. When I go to Carowinds, I get there early, park 50 feet from the Fury bridge and I am good.

I guess the park has reasons to do it. Probably security and whatnot. Or maybe they're looking to expand the park into the parking lot there and create 2 distinct parking areas (Carowinds / Carolina Harbor).

I ALWAYS parked at the back gate at SFoG. Access to the car without trekking 2 miles was the main reason. When they closed their back gate there I absolutely hated it. There are probably similar patrons to Carowinds who enjoy that area.

But, alas, we move on and move forward. If they close South Gate, let's hope they replace it with another world class coaster. I would definitely be good with that.

Confirmed or Speculation?

That’s a lot of to spend that I don’t see them getting a ROI. Tearing down South Gate and adding trams would be cheaper but still wouldn’t come with a ROI.
