Hey, so my youth group at my church is going on Saturday, July 20 and I want to know how bad the crowds are on Saturdays. It's the only time we can go for a full day and I just hope we'll get to ride more than 3 rides . But seriously if there are huge crowds on Saturdays is there any way to have shorter wait times?

Was at the park today. It looked like area between the parking lot and the toll booth had retention ponds. The hotel looks like it’s almost finished, I think it could be open during SCarowinds.

They said late fall for hotel opening...I hope it opens during SCarowinds. It seems that they’re finishing up the exterior work. I think their main goal is to have it open for Winterfest.

They are building a parking deck! Lol, just keeding! I would probably think that they are reworking the parking lot to bring vehicular/pedestrian from the hotel to the park gate. I haven't been able to find the bid plans get. Southside is doing the work. They were the same contractors for Copperhead Strike.

I saw them working out there last week and I remembered the huge pond that used to be there. Where did the water come from? Is there a natural water source there? Where does the water go now? I swear the park used to have water everywhere!

Rode boo blasters about a week ago, they had fixed some of the animatronics. Rode it tonight and most of them broke again but they took some of them out of there so maybe they’re doing some maintenance on them instead of putting a band aid on them.

I mean, the attraction is like eighteen years old...

e: which isn't to say I think they will get rid of it anytime soon, but it's probably in need of a major (read: expensive) overhaul pretty soon.

New nighttime show in the park...I think tonight is the first night. Not as big as turn it up from last year and more similar to the ones in the past.

I am confirming the nightly turn-down dance party is back on. It's always been a great way to end the dau past seasons. It's a shame that Carowinds is a month and a half too late. They could've got rid of that god awful Swing Machine and put their resources into the turn-down dance party where folks have fun. The sound system is beautiful by the way!

I ain’t been following along much lately, swung by the park for bout half an hour this evening, as we can see hotels take a long time to build! Also is this going to be additional parking?

The exterior looks like it’s nearing completion. It’s really starting to resemble the rendering:



As far as the clearing goes, I don’t see why it would be anything else but a parking lot expansion. It’ll be way more convenient for day trip guests to park there, and hotel guests should have an easier path to walk to the gate (though I imagine they’ll still provide shuttle service for the resorts).
