I have gotten the bring someone for 14.99 twice. I wonder what the algorithm is?

Let the dino’s replacement speculation commence! Oh we’ve been doing that the last six years.

The area has some hilly terrain so it’ll be interesting to see what takes its place in the coming seasons. The adjacency to Camp Snoopy would lend well to more family friendly attractions.

So the great pumpkin fest activity trail is new this year for great pumpkin fest. They have also expanded it into other sections of the park making it more family oriented rather than just focused on the kids. The great pumpkin festival trail doesn’t have a set location while the other activities do. Maybe they’re going to be using the old Dino area for it? Just a thought. camp snoopy was pretty crowded last year during great pumpkin fest. That wooden fence right at the end of the path near wilderness run connects right to the path of Dino’s.
EDIT:
The photo couldn’t upload but if you go to carowinds’ website and then to great pumpkin fest under events you’ll be able to find it.

Looks like they expanded activities around the entire park this year! It makes sense to utilize the SCarowinds props in the day time.

Personally, I'd like to see them use the dino area for the "next big coaster" attraction. The hilly area would lend itself well to a ground up RMC. Wrap it around Afterburn and take it through some of the CrossRoads area too. I like when rides interact with other rides.

Since the next big coaster probably wont be for a few years because of the recent addition of Copperhead, I doubt that will happen. I doubt they'd let it sit for that long. Then again...

I guess it all depends on the long-range plan for the South Gate area as a whole.

I can't see the next new coaster not utilizing Dinosaurs Alive. The space is pretty much open and un-utilized, and there's room to expand into the parking lot now that it looks like space for more parking at the North Gate is being cleared. I'm sure that's the designated spot in their five year plan.

As far as what will happen in the meantime, I think it will be used for the Monster Jam Thunder Alley they're rolling out to the parks.

Reasonable speculation on this is tough. We've got Rapids and Dinos. I think Cedar Fair understands Carowinds needs coasters that are inside the park. We need more midway interaction, this is definitely the direction we are heading. Now, GCI or RMC? Both? 100 ft GCI in dinos, then 160+ ft high-thrill RMC in rapids? That's what I would do. Cedar Fair Board of Executives, if you're reading this, no one cares about monster trucks. You learned nothing from Dinos. You're wasting your money.

Here's my thought...

Why close Dinos in mid-August?

Unless they are using the trail for Scarowinds or the Great Pumpkin Fest... Or maybe Winterfest.

If they don't use the trail for any of those, then I think we can start speculating...

Very curious...

I still think the DA area is going to get carved up for multiple uses.

At least part of it will be expansion room for Camp Snoopy, that much is pretty clear.

As for the rest of it? Who knows, and this isn't the speculation thread, but I can definitely see a permanent seasonal building (Scarowinds, Winterfest, whatever) and a large flat since that side of the park lacks both of those things. I can also see us getting a Forbidden Frontier clone.

Literally the only thing I don't see happening is a coaster, there's just too many other things to do with that area.
