Rip Roarin' Rapids is gone and will never come back.

aka the people that will decide how much money to spend on whatever takes its place.

Personally I hope they bulldoze the stupid thing and give us a direct path to Fury from the main gate, but this isn't the wishlist thread.

They'd never give up their precious service roads

They aren't gonna build a bypass of all those shops and ways to spend money, completely interrupt their infrastructure and backstage area just so an enthusiast can get on their fav coaster faster.

I sort of assumed CF might be waiting to see how Knotts' new rapids ride did in terms of media attention / incremental revenue to influence their decision of what to do with RRR.

I don't entirely disagree, unless they decide to demolish the shops entirely as part of a renovation of the entire area which is something I could definitely see being on the books, particularly considering it's one of the few areas of the park that has remained virtually untouched since Cedar Fair purchased it.

The parking lot expansion is pretty notable, and I’m sure they’ll release the opening date for the hotel. It’s possible that the park receives one of those Thunder Alley events that they’ve been rolling out across the chain. I also wouldn’t be surprised if they introduced a couple of new restaurants and/or renovated Celebration Plaza.
