Maybe it's just me, (probably is since I am the creator of this poll heh) but this is disturbing. I was hoping that people would vote with integrity and vote for what they thought was the best picture instead of what was the funniest, wackiest, or all around goofiest picture. Maybe if there is enough interest I will make a "Carowinds CRAZY Photo Contest".. good grief I know I have plenty of those as well.

If I may offer up some constructive critisim.. I take it you are talking about <a href='http://www.pbase.com/jamminj/image/38899266' target='_blank'>this pic</a>. Taking pictures of a sunset gets really old really fast. Everyone has seen a sunset, and lets be honest, if you've seen one you've seen them all. The Cyclone silloutte is a nice touch, but since it's not the focus of the picture it nearly gets lost.

Note: Before you call me a hypocrite with me having <a href='http://www.pbase.com/jamminj/image/15738325' target='_blank'>this pic</a> in the final, there is no sun even visible in my picture, and Top Gun is purely the focus of the pic.

<a href='http://www.pbase.com/jamminj/image/38899264' target='_blank'>The goldrusher pic</a> is a nice one, but my only gripe is the lighting, seems to be a very dark photo.

My favorite of your 3 is the <a href='http://www.pbase.com/jamminj/image/38899265' target='_blank'>Cyclone pic</a>. Even though it's been done a million times it always produces a great pic (barring a major malfunction or operator error of course). Other than the originality of the picture I really think its very good.

Haha.. don't worry about those.. as long as theres not one in the middle of your picture blocking everything. In fact I didn't even notice them till you just said something. Adds to the 'atmosphere' of the photo in my opinion.

I wanted to add that I've really enjoyed the contest - both as a contestant and also looking at what everyone else has done. I've been pleased to see that several of my pics were popular enough to make the finals, although those may not have all been MY favorites.

Even though I agree that sunset pics can be overdone, I still liked Rollernut's Cyclone silhouette shot. Another I was surprised that didn't make the finals was Swampfox's Vortex shot - that was nicely framed and really conveyed a good sense of action. A few choices have been, um, interesting, but that's what you get sometimes with public opinion

I'd like to see more contests, maybe some with different themes, or have different categories in each contest. That'll give us some incentives to keep shooting Carowinds pictures, and the best thing to do to improve your photography skills is to shoot more. Plus, taking a break from riding the coasters to explore the park with your camera can really help keep the park experience fresh, and you'll be surprised at some of the things you notice when you're doing more than just rushing from coaster to coaster.
