To elaborate a little more: I *love* the flyers. The one thing I've wanted the last few years more than pretty much anything (including a hyper coaster that goes under the bridge) is a set of great flyers, and now we have that. If they keep them running good all season, I'll probably be spending 90% of my time in the park there.

Jonathan, what happened with ThunderRoad yesterday? We were riding by on our way to the gas station on Carowinds Blvd and we said "Oh cool, here comes the backwards train on ThunderRoad." Then it got to the turnaround and stopped just as it was going up the hill. We wondered how that could be possible.

Ah, cool, so you saw it happen then. The train must have been going to slow and failed to make it over the hill. A couple of years ago anti-rollbacks were installed at the crest of that hill, so it must be a common problem.

Yes, we saw it and I actually pulled my car over to the side of the road to make sure I was seeing right. They ran the forward train just after that and it went through fine. They were just test runs because there were no riders yet.

Thanks for the pictures.

Do they weight the coasters any before dry runs? It seems an empty coaster would have a harder time making the run as opposed to one with people in it.

To answer your question WDWspider trains are not weighed on dry run days, They are weighed when they are put back together and testing of the trains begin. The reason why T-Road stopped was because the wind was facing right at it and plus yes the trains did not have people on it so it did have some effect on it. And Blistex the park was open for friends and families of employees at the park. The Park will officially be opened to the public on March 19, 2005 Saturday from 10-8. This wednesday is media day for Nick Central (Not Open to the Public). And on March 18, 2005 Friday from 5-9 is Preview Night for Season Pass Holders.

I know what slowed it down.

There's a ladder laying down below the track on the backwards side. (Seriously) next time you drive by look.

I laughed when I saw that on Preview day.

And did anyone notice my fro on preview day? Max sent me the group shot and I look like I've got an afro. !!! lol
