The kiddie coaster was not open Duke. It looked to be completed but I had heard late May, early June opening for some reason. That is a tiny coaster. It could fit in my living room. :)

I'm jealous you got to ride the Disk-O coasterbruh. You must've either got to it before it broke or after they fixed it. I think it was around 3pm when I was over there. It had just started to sprinkle rain. Maybe I did see you there. You must've been the one with the big entourage of fans following you. :D

As far as them giving directions by the number of redlights, Gatlinburg (4 miles away) goes one step further. They actually hang numbers on their redlights. To ride the tram, they tell you to "go to redlight #6, turn right, etc." It's actually a pretty good system.

I'm already planning my next visit to DW. Next time I will stay overnight at my usual hotel. I love hitting DW at opening on Sunday. Thunderhead has no line and you can usually stay in your seat for at least an hour. At least it was like that the times I was there last year....

MAPQUEST SUCKS!!!! (they had me going thru all sorta nooks and cranies when all I had to do was take I-40 all the way there  !!

So did you ever ride the Screamin Swing???

I finally uploaded my small video of it.

Mapquest and AAA alike give you the most direct route, which as you found out and I have too is not always the best route.

That route they give you is through little mountain towns and curvy mountain roads that look like will make you crash any moment.

Best way is to go I-40 to Exit 407 (Hwy 66) take 66 till it dead ends, take a right and you're on the strip in no time.

I went to dollywood myself opening week. And I didn't know any reason why to keep veegie tales closed. I heard there was to be a photo section put in. The diskO'' was more fun than it seemed. :D

I was told that the VeggieTales coaster had not completed it's 40 hours of testing.

I'm glad some other peeps got to ride the Disk-O I love that thing!!!

The flyers of course are my favorite "new" flat ride of the year, but the Disk-O comes in 2nd.

That is until the 20th when I finally ride a giant frisbee for the first time at PKI.

Is that Screamin swing video from Pigeon Forge? I hope so! I didn't notice it when I was cruising the strip Saturday....

Too bad they don't go all the way around. I guess there's always the trusty ole Skyscraper.

When I said it didn't work, I meant that it brought up page not found! Works now though.

Yep the Screamin Swing is just down the strip past Dollywood Lane or whatever that light is where you turn off the strip to go to Dollywood.

It's on the right on the same side as Dollywood.

Trust me, the hang time is wicked. I think it's more fun not going all the way upside down, because you feel like you are going to come out of your seat!!!

It's a fun ride for sure.

Nice little video there Jonathan. I'm glad the skies cleared up for ya. I wasn't so lucky when I went back in late April. Fortunately, there was no lightning so the coasters ran all day. My last ride of the day was on Thunderhead in the pouring rain. It was quite fun!

Oh, and thanks for showing the new Disk-0 in operation. It wasn't running the day I was there and this was the first time I had seen video of one in operation.
