I thought about posting this in the general discussion forum, but this forum needs a little love, so I'll post it here.

After an hour of abusing myself on the flyers this morning during ERT, I found that Hurler seems to have awoken from its two year slump. Maybe my memory is just fading, but this morning it seemed to be running as well as it did in 2001 and 2002. The first three bunny hills were as good as ever, and hill four had the great air that it used to have. It was really running well. I guess the complete retracking of the first turn did it a lot of good, and it looked like there was a small amount of fairly new wood on the far outbound turn.

I was down there Saturday night with my friend James and his son. The place was packed! TG had a full lower queue, and the flyers were about a 40 minute wait. Drop Zone was about 20-25 minutes.

We were glad when we got to Hurler and it had a near empty station. We decided to hop in the back where we got 2 consecutive rides, and I was very impressed. I was in the front seat of the back car and found the entire ride to be smooth, with some good airtime. I expected the first turn to be smooth, however I wasn't expecting the rest of the ride to be. It was rougher on the other turns than the first for sure, but the train wasn't shuffling like crazy through them like it has been for years. I usually don't care for the back car due to the abuse and the somewhat funky airtime, but it was really fun Saturday night.

I bet the front would've been extremely good, but we left thinking we'd get in a flyer ride or two, or maybe a flight on Top Gun to close the night. The flyers still had a 40+ minute line at 9:40, and Top Gun's line was almost to the entrance so we headed to Thunder Road. It wasn't running nearly as well as Hurler, but we did notice something odd. They were racing! Not by accident, but on EVERY dispatch! As an added bonus, the trains ran at nearly the same speed the entire ride. That was also unusual, as the backwards train usually gets beaten badly on the return trip, but both trains hit the brakes at almost the same time.

I was disappointed that the park was that crowded, as I'd hoped to get my first night flyer and TG rides since the preview night, even moreso since it looked like the trains on TG were really hauling.

Back when i went last sunday, somebody asked top race... I was so excited, until half way up the lift hil, some DA stuck his hand out...so they stopped it..and that was it...no racing for me that day...plus it was a little rough that last ride...so I decided not to ride it again that day.
