well, having the photo stands open at carowinds more than a year or two isnt profit-worthy. Parks like disney, cedar point, six flags, etc, all make money off their photos because people travel from all over to the parks and get an on-ride as a souvenier from their trip. You dont have a lot of that at carowinds. Most of the people that go to carowinds are from NC and SC, or maybe a state or two over, its not a park that many people will travel long distances just to go visit like you would, say Cedar Point, SFMM, Disneyworld, and stuff like that. Its mostly local crowd that have been there many times (meaning most of them either have an onride photo, or arent going to purchase one because they go to the park so much...like me--i've never bought an on-ride there cuz i've been there so many times, i dont see the point). Does that make any sense? or am i just being confusing? lol B)

FYI, People DO come to Carowinds from all over the world! There is alot of them too. Don't open your mouth when you don't know something. The problem with Carowinds and on-ride photos is they have them on the wrong rides.

First off, I never said people dont come here from other places, i said that they dont come nearly as much from other places. A big majority ARE from within a few states. Not nearly as many would travel from the west coast here just for this park as they would to a park like CP or something like that. That is my opinion. I'm sure more people come here from far away than i think would, but its not nearly in the same way as more well-known parks. Also, if you think i am wrong, you dont have to be so rude about it, telling me not to open my mouth when i dont know something, because i do. :angry:

You are right though that the rides they put them with is a huge factor. At carowinds, about the only 3 coasters i could see them on would be Top Gun and BORG (because they are the most popular at the park), and Scooby....er Fairly Odd coaster (i'm still gonna call it scooby for old times sake i think), because it is many youngsters first. Possibly Thunder Road as well like you said.

I have to argue the point as well that a lot of people don't just have season passes and come every week.

There are a ton of people at PC all the time that only come to the park once a year.

Just look at all the people in the park that are looking at a map or acting like they've never been there before.

I think the park gets a good bit of visits from people outside of the Charlotte region.

I was shocked when I went to Holiday World and they only charged $5.95 for a Legend on-ride. You know what I did, I bought it!

I think $9.99 is reasonable and anything above that is too much.

When you consider that it probably only costs them .50 to print the picture. I know the cameras and equipment are expensive, but not that expensive when you consider how many pics they sell.

The cameras can't be all that expensive as Vortex hasn't had on-ride in a long time but the cameras for it were never taken down.

Not all of the coasters need on-ride, Road Rally(Road Trip) would be a good idea along with the Carousel. However, instead of just taking everyone's photo just take them when they are asked. Like it worked on the movie RollerCoaster.
