Well I got to the park at about 9:45 today. I quickly got 5 rides in a row on top gun, back row, yellow train, left seat. I never even had to get up. I think I even stole back row left from BGW Freak [or some other CC member I saw at opening day] (sorry man  ). It was then 9:59 and the ride op wouldn't let me ride TG a 6th time, so I just joined the crowd at the barriers and walked briskly to the flyers at 10:00.

The flyers were good, but there was a 30 min. line for most of the day, I still managed to get in 8 rides though B) . I finally figured out to snap consistantly on my 5th ride (5th all-time ride). I then went over to thrill zone for some rides on hurler and DZ. Later, on my 6th flyer ride, dukefanswimmer89 and some of his friends came up right as I was getting in the flyer. I think I did a good showing my stuff to his friends, who hadn't ever seen the flyers before.

We all went over to thrill zone, but didn't end up riding so much of anything because the lines were getting REALLY long. After that we went to lunch at wings. We then went to the flyers and rode them as a group. dukefanswimmer89's friends were like snapping naturals and snapped awesomely their first ride. We then went over to the country fair and rode Frenzoid (THE NUTCRACKER!!!) and thunder road.

After that, there was a conflict in opinion amoungst the group and we split up. Dukefanswimmer89 and I just kinda did random stuff throughout the park but did more flyers than anything else. The other losers went to the waterpark and waited in long lines for stupid slides.

Towards the end of the day all the peeps that hadn't ridden borg more than 5 times (everybody but dukefanswimmer89 and me) waited in line for borg. Dukefanswimmer and I then rode the flyers 3 times in a row while the other losers waited for borg. Dukefanswimmer89 and his friends' ride then pulled up and so it had to wait for 40 mins while the friends got through the borg line. One of the friends got to ride borg twice (lucky B____) because there were empty seats. He could have ridden it 3 times, but his ride had to leave right THEN.

After all of those guys left, I rode the flyers and top gun another two times each. I now have 21 top gun rides for the season, while dukefanswimmer just has 20 ( :P ).

Overall it was a fun day, but the park was the most crowded I had seen it in years...

the day was great, snapping is so much fun if you sit two to three ppl in a row that acutually know how to do it!! ;)

I truly enjoyed riding the flyers four times today.. even though the wait was like 25-30 minutes..

but as for those lines, holy crap.

The Park was so crowded it was unbelievable. I'm talking about a 40 minute wait for TG (at 6:00!!!! - 1 hr+ around 2pm)... 3 hours for borg, thunder road and hurler out to the queue entrance, vortex wrapping around, drop zone 35 minutes, cyclone out to the entrance, ricochet going around that little queue they used on its first month, it was just CRAZY.

Although I enjoyed the many flyer rides, i hoped it would've rained harder, longer.. the park would've emptied so i could enjoy the other rides.. I don't know if its like that every saturday now, or just memorial weekend, but I have not seen the park that full since Opening Day 1999 when i waited two hours for Top Gun... :( ... i usually avoid saturdays but couldn't, some ppl were coming from out of town.. but if every sat. is like this, i'll just continue to avoid it.. IS IT ALWAYS that BAD?? :(

i thought it was cool they allow ppl to ride Borg twice when they didn't fill an empty seat.. :D never seen that before (I did ride TG three times in a row both times i was in that area, i love how easy that is..but i did see some1 run up the exit, and still got through ... very not nice to the poor ppl waiting for an hour)

That is reason I ain't really in a "Carowinds Mood" no more. There is just way too many people there lately.

BTW, nice avatar. I swear I have seen that picture somewhere else.

I just can't stop thinking about the flyers; I'm ready for any snapping contest at C3.

yeah,
i also find it interesting how when you're on them, it seems as if the ride goes on for 10 minutes, but if you're waiting in the queue, each cycle feels like 2 minutes.. that's my kind of ride! :)

Can't wait until I go again. Even though the park is packed, what days have less people in the park?

Guys, the park only has a good amount of people on Saturdays. The only reason it was so packed on Saturday and Sunday was because it was Memorial Day Weekend, Bojangles had half off admission coupons in North and South Carolina, and the race was in Charlotte. Plus, on Saturday they had some gospel concert at the Paladium.

It was a holiday weekend, so I believe it can only be that bad again during the 4th of July weekend.

Yeah, i saw the concert going on..
i figured it wasn't a usual saturday, but jeez, that many things going on... no wonder it was so bad...

Now that its open all week, a Wednesday or Thursday is prob. the best. You may want to avoid Tuesday b/c its Platinum Double Rides...

simply avoid weekends and if you have to go, go Friday or maybe Sunday.. never Saturdays.

I agree.

Sundays are totally fine, though.

Its walk on everything except Borg, of course, till about 1.
