Went to Carowinds on Memorial Day............ Rainy start, but hey........ no crowd either!
Straight to Borg...... about the 20th in line.......... Borg broken!! :angry:

Ok... we walk over to the Fliers........... OH MAN!!! Not a kiddie ride at all!!!

This ride is one of the best things Carowinds has gotten in years!!! My wife and I rode it together in the same flier.......... and had that bad boy snapping on the second ride!! It got so bad, that the op got all over us about SWINGING at the end of the ride!! Hey........ if it's a snapping, then it's gonna be a-rocking when it stops!!!! We were flying way over the loading station...... and afraid of hitting its edge too!!!
An excellent ride.......... an awesome 10 !!!!

Then on to Scooby Doo for some coaster action. Still a sweet little coaster..... very good. The Nik Zone looks great......... a lovely change for the better.

We then scooted over to TopGun for some heavy steel. My wife's friend had never been on a coaster like this. We talked her into it by bringing her in from the rear, so she could not see all of the coaster...... heheheheh :ph34r: Well, she survived it!!! And TG was running sweet too in the rain........... very smooth.

Next, on to my biggest disappoint of the day. TR......... it was plain horrible!!! What the #%@^$%@%@ have they done to this once great ride. This thing was a back breaker!!! We rode the forward car, and from the bottom of the first hill to the bottom of every hill, this car would slam your spine through the car. No mercy at all.... that thing was a jumping up and down for all it was worth. Everyone in my group complained of how bad it was!!! This once great 10 is now a miserable 1.... only for those who enjoy pain. Sad to say, it will be my last ride on this once great coaster.

Now, on to eat. To save some money, we went out to the car to warm up (the restaurants had the AIR on......... brrrrrrrrrrrrrr) and eat. We had sandwiches and chips and Mississippi Mudcake............yum!! Did I say...... FREE???

Ok.... 30 min gone, and we split up... we let the teens go by themselves, and the old foggies went a different way. We went to Kaleidiscope.... fun........ then to Hurler.... yes... still great....... fix TR please......... (The Ricochet was down......... oh did I say that Borg was STILL down??)..... then over to GoldRusher........ still a good ride.... then over to SuperSaturator.... a dissappoint when the stupid water dropper does not work!!!..... fix it, Carowinds.......... then

What........... BORG is testing.... well, my group sends me over to the BORG to ride..... my gosh........ there was about a 2 hour wait for that thing......... and the ride....???? HO-HUM......... I waited 2 hours for this???? I'd rather ride the fliers.... seriously.......... And after the ride... I felt almost as bad as TR.... but my spine wasn't out of joint......... but I was getting a little green. :blink:

My group rode some rides over again, and we finally found the Teens at 6 (closing time) to call it a day.

All in all........... not a bad day for a crowd........ but some of the rides are in serious need of work.... TR needs to be torn down..... BORG needs to seriously improve the turn over time to speed the line....... it is not worth 2 hours of your time.... TOPGUN is!!!! TG is still the Signature ride... but look out for the Fliers.... they are breathing up fast on TG's back!

Dunno know why when a coaster didnt give a "out of the world" ride it should automatically be "torn down" **shrugs shoulders** I guess...

Going fowards, theres this giant pothole right before the 1st hill before the turnaround. Backwards is much smoother.

I woulda been happy with a 5 out of ThunderRoad.... I remember when that sweet thing would send you flying over the top, and let you glide peacefully to the bottom of every hill... with nary a jolt when you land... Wonderful airtime.........

Oh the good ole days... when you would actually RACE on them.... with just the simple restraints to hold you in........it was a blast...........

I wish they would fix her, though....it's just a shame........

But that is what happens when money takes over...Carowinds and the past have been destroyed the park is now Parawinds(Sadly).

True, true... I always have to lean forward after the drop to avoid crunching my back - the other hills aren't nearly as bad.. I'm not a fan of backwards, but it is smoother..

I wish they would race it the whole time, that is its purpose..

You just cant win for loosing with some people....

This is just my observation based on visiting other parks. The main focus of the parks are to get as many people thru so the lines wont be as long. If they raced that would be nice, but the lines may be longer because of waiting on the other train to load/unload. Now I agree on days when its slow it should race.

Its just a pet peeve of mines when people complain about how bad this is and how bad that is when you have the power to not visit the park in the first place.

I enjoy the park because I have been to far less better parks and I can honestly say I would rather have parks run like carowinds vs. the way they are currently ran...

The way some of you guys talk you wouldnt think this was a carowinds fansite...

The Sunday that I went, I rode bkwds,was not racing, went to ride forwards, somebody asked if we can race, went up lift hill, stopped twice cuz some DA kept putting their arm out the side, so Backwards one! I was so pissed....if only I could have got my hands on that dude!
