General Carowinds discussion

I was reading the other thread about how visiting other parks makes you appreciate Carowinds more, and I was doing the whole Orlando thing last week, so it got me wondering...

If you could do one thing to change Carowinds, and you can't add a ride, what would it be? Remember, no adding rides. I want to know what everyone would do besides adding the Hyper that goes under the bridge.

I would go crazy on making the attractions feel more like they do at the universal parks. When you go there, the lines are themed phenomenally and you actually feel like the ride is real life! The lines/buildings are fitting, the attendants are dressed like the part and it's a great way to make the rides more exciting IMO.

For example, I'm not sure about the story lol, but wouldn't it be cool if on Scooby Doo, during the line they added a character that is the boss for the group and they tell the public that they need to prevent the robbery and save the group from the haunted mansion? Or if the attendants on borg were wearing that weird eye thing that is in the show?

I apologize if it seems like a bunch of rambling but let's hear what you'll think.

Rename and retheme the Frenzoid to the nutcracker ;)

but all jokes aside, retheme the "Thrill Zone" or "Waynes World" or whatever it's called... it needs a major revamp...

don't dress up the poor ride attendants... that would be real torture

Do major rehab(reconstruction) on Thunder Road, and remove Hurler.

I'm gonna show my age on this reply............ :D

The first time I went to Carowinds in 1974, the attendants WERE themed! Each of the different areas had the attendants in attire that reflected the mood of that area!!!

That didn't last too long... soon thereafter, they started standardizing the look for all of them. (Guess it was too costly to get the special outfits for each worker).

Anyone else remember?

I think employee costumes are a great idea, but I can understand why some people wouldn't want them...especially in the summer. I just think little touches like that really add to the atmosphere.

I'd like to see a general increase in themeing, and it seems things are beginning to shape up in this area thanks to recent management. Borg ***, Nick Central, and Top Gun all have some nice themeing.

I wish that all the major attractions (mostly the coasters) could have covered ques, my ideal wish would be Air conditioned because it gets so hot out there in the summer.

That was one thing I LOVED about Epcot. I didn't mind an hour line when I was inside and comfortable.
