Wes' mention of his coaster count in another thread made me think of this, obviously this is not a competition, so please don't lie or otherwise exaggerate your count.

This mainly just to see how 'experienced' the average CC-goer is..

As of right now I'm up to 242 coasters, my favorites being Thunderhead, Phoenix, Legend, Hades, SROS at SFNE, and Apollo's Chariot.

The only thing I've kept a log sheet of are my wooden coasters, since that is my favorite type of coaster. As of now, I have ridden 88 different woodies my last new one being Thunderhead in 2004, and 5 more to be added on my trip to Wisconsin Dells this August.

As far as steel coasters go, I stopped counting those 10 years ago when I reached 150. I'm sure I have added quite a few since then but I don't have an exact count on steel. Easily 200+ though.

Since you mentioned your favorites, I'll throw in my top 8.
1) <a href='http://rcdb.com/ig475.htm?picture=7' target='_blank'>Rampage</a>
2) <a href='http://www.coastergallery.com/2002/DW16.html' target='_blank'>Thunderhead</a>
3) <a href='http://rcdb.com/ig628.htm?picture=5' target='_blank'>SROS</a>
4) <a href='http://rcdb.com/ig550.htm?picture=4' target='_blank'>Tremors</a>
5) <a href='http://rcdb.com/ig262.htm?picture=7' target='_blank'>Comet (Great Escape)</a>
6) <a href='http://rcdb.com/ig602.htm?picture=9' target='_blank'>Boulderdash</a>
7) <a href='http://rcdb.com/ig478.htm?picture=5' target='_blank'>Shivering Timbers</a>
8) <a href='http://rcdb.com/ig320.htm?picture=2' target='_blank'>Coaster (Vancouver)</a>

I'm at around 85 coasters (steel and wood) having visited about 17 different parks. Everything except Carowinds' pre-1990 coasters and Space Mountain at WDW were done since 2001 - so I've done about 80 "new to me" coasters in the last 5 years.

My favorites:

Kumba, Georgia Cyclone, Thunderhead, Kumba, our Top Gun, Raptor, Apollo's Chariot, Superman @ SFA, and our Vortex - just kidding on that last one :P

No, I'm not playing Carowinds "homer" by picking Top Gun either, it just suits my tastes in steel coasters better than everything except Kumba, with Raptor coming in a very close third.

Since I started the job I have now and gone back to college, I haven't done that much travelling like I use to. The last major trip I took was CP-SFO-SFDL-MFI-CLP-KW. Now, that was a very fun trip. I've missed going to PPP at Knoebels in the Fall. It always seemed to be the perfect end to a coastering year.

As far as fave coasters: the Legend, SROS (SFDL), Hulk, Montu, and Volcano.

1) Kraken - way too smooth, fast, crazy, and incredible to deny.
2) Millennium Force - no need to explain.
3) Incredible Hulk - no way to explain the feeling in the start of that ride.
4) Kumba - been riding that one for years and i just love it.
5) Volcano/Top Gun - they tie for me.

Hades (certain webmaster just passed out),

Actually I think Wild One was the biggest surprise!

The last 2 summers have been big for me, as I added 99 new coasters to my count during the two Ride World trips alone. I'm up to 229 total. Like swampfox, I greatly prefer wooden coasters, so I have to split my favorites up into wood and steel, otherwise I probably would only have maybe one or two steel listed.

Here are my full lists: <a href='http://www.jonathan-hawkins.net/index.php/dossier/' target='_blank'>http://www.jonathan-hawkins.net/index.php/dossier/</a>

Wood:
1. Hades, Mt. Olympus
2. Thunderhead, Dollywood
3. Phoenix, Knoebels
4. Cornball Express, Indiana Beach
5. Avalanche, Timber Falls
6. Legend, Holiday World
7. Ozark Wildcat, Celebration City
8. Cyclops, Mt. Olympus
9. Raven, Holiday World
10. Viper, Six Flags Great America

Steel:
1. Superman: Ride of Steel, Six Flags New England
2. Superman: Ride of Steel, Six Flags America
3. Nitro, Six Flags Great Adventure
4. Millennium Force, Cedar Point
5. Apollo's Chariot, Busch Gardens Williamsburg
6. Raptor, Cedar Point
7. Top Gun: The Jet Coaster, Paramount's Carowinds
8. Magnum XL 200, Cedar Point
9. Storm Runner, HersheyPark
10. Mind Bender, Six Flags Over Georgia
