They classify it as 8, but to me the rollovers still only count as half inversions...otherwise, you could technically say that Colossus (sp?) at Thorpe Park has 20 inversions according to that definition could you not? Saying it has 8 inversions is a bit decieving b/c it has 3 full inversions, 4 rollovers (half inversions in my opinion), and an overbanked turn...not 8 full inversions. Like i said, it seems like just a decietful trick to make it seem twistier (is that a word?) than it really is or something.

Shouldn't a half inversion be 90 degrees since the definition says an inversion is 180 degrees?

Seems to me that Max has hit the nail on the head once again. Carowinds is just using that list as a way to market the ride and the park as a whole. Alot of other parks do it and there is nothing wrong with it. After all if the park does not make money then there will be NO NEW THINGS ADDED.

If you think this practice is wrong then just stop going to any park that does this. I think you will find that you will be sitting home and not enjoying a park. JUst head on out and enjoy yourself at Carowinds or any park that you choose.

:huh: 180 degrees? Colossus at Thorpe, a 20 inversion coaster j/k That would be funny though. Twist the definition just slightly so that every 180 degrees = 1 inversion...lol. I get it how an inversion doesnt have to flip you completely, just flip you pretty much. Does anyone understand how the overbanked turn is an inversion, since it doesnt flip you 180 degrees? I know they dont count them as inversions on Milennium Force and other coasters.
