The survey is about naming Carowinds. You will find out what it is all about at the end of the survey but we all know what it is about

Wow, i didnt have a clue to put for the one question

Pretend Carowinds was going to be sold to one of the following companies. Which would you most want to see running the park?
TBS
NBC
Coca-Cola
Sony
ABC
Time Warner
Federal Government
Carnival Cruise Lines
Panasonic
Yahoo
The WB
America Online
FOX
MTV
Google
Electronic Arts
Marvel Comics
CBS
Cartoon Network
News Corp

Personally, i dont like any of those choices any more than i would paramount. I would say time warner, except, like any other company that does amusement parks on the side and doesnt concentrate on them to bring in profits, the park would be more neglected and not get as much funding as they needed.

Carnival wouldnt be all that bad i guess since they are already a tourist industry. I can tell you though that my VERY LAST choice would be the federal gov't....i couldnt even imagine how bad the park would become. It prolly wouldnt get any funding, so no new rides, everything would fall apart. And you've seen what they have been doing in cali with all their ridiculous new regulations and laws to try and kill the industry.

CBS, eh?

Well, there went the neighborhood.

I guess Dan "these ARE TOO, real" Rather will be there in a made for Carowinds Theme Ride - "Rather the HyperCoaster - powered by a blast of his hot air".... I guess that is what is being cleared off for behind Hurler.............

Of all the choices - we get stuck with CBS. Sigh.....

Isn't the parks suppose to go under the CBS part of the splitting of the company? I read it in the paper a few weeks ago. I just wish they'd drop the Paramounts part in the name. I voted for just plain Carowinds everytime in the survey.

CBS will be taking over...ehhh...

Maybe the park will be shortened to just "Carowinds" again, or "Carowinds...A CBS Company", though "Paramount's" really describes the park and the current themes the best.

Of all the companies that were given, NBC (Well, General Electric or whatever) entices me the most, since it is now at the helm of Universal Studios.

I got the feeling they were also wondering how many knew which companies were "Viacom"

I like just calling it Carowinds the best but at the same time being "a CBS company" will also keep the parks tied together for those who don't already know. I mean we all know what parks are what but there are newbies to the scene everday.

I agree with that and stated so in the comment field. Personally when I think of CBS I think of news, not fun stuff.

Just think of all that money they will spend on changing signs, logos, etc. That could add an attraction or two.

Why do you say that? Paramount Parks are not being sold, they are being handed over to a different branch of the company. PKI and PKD get almost everything, usually anything we get, at least one of them already has, then sometimes, with the successful rides (but never the most successful rides) we get a copy. Hopefully the CBS branch will finally start giving us something good first or some new thrill rides. We'll have to wait untill they take over to find out. I'll reserve the rest of my judgment till i see what they do.

Edit: Cephas, you're right, i think PCW and PGA are quite neglected as well...definetly PGA. I think since PKD and PKI are so big and many of the better rides, they should start picking up there work on the rest of the parks.

Wouldn't it be better to wait and see what happens before predicting the gloom and doom of the park? Nothing will probably change. They will more than likely keep the same people in charge of the parks (corporate and other wise.) I don't think a "change" will affect the parks that much.

Carowinds has 12 coasters, thats good. I'd say PGA or PCW is the neglected one.

Isn't it funny that there are more Carowinds posts/ topics than any other park at the Discussion forum....it seems that more people care about Carowinds (the patrons...not the company) then any other park. We have more loyal patrons who actually care about the park...I told them mtv...but and that I didn't want any of those companys running the parks...and that I want carowinds should seperate and become a new company so that more could be focused on the park than making money before it goes under any of those companies!

I was just stating that "if" they changed the name from Paramount's Carowinds surely they wouldn't leave up the Paramount's name, which in turn would cost a good bit of money.

In what ever direction they go I do not see it as a set back for our park, and definantly don’t see it as a demise for the park. I think they would leave the management in place and go forward with whatever plans they already have.

I may complain every now and then but we have a pretty good park. The only thing that we seem to be missing is that "world known" attraction. You know the kind that everyone talks about from the various discussion groups to the Travel Channel, etc.

I like Paramount but I wish they would put more Carolinia feeling back into the park.

Yea, a more carolina feel would be nice. Somebody mentioned on their feedback forums an idea that should have the waterpark be themed to the carolinas. For example, the high slides could be set in the mountains, and something like the wave pool with a more outer banks feel. I think that would be kool for the waterpark.

I was just stating that "if" they changed the name from Paramount's Carowinds surely they wouldn't leave up the Paramount's name, which in turn would cost a good bit of money.

Well, like i said, i think they are just putting us under a different branch, it would still be under paramount. Even if they got rid of the name, i dont think they'd get rid of all the paramount stuff (signs and themes, etc). Especially after all the new work they've done, i dont think they are going to re-retheme the whole NICK section and BORG and all that stuff.

I was going to bash you into the ground, but instead I'm going to make you do the work. What makes you think that Carowinds is the 'most neglected' park in the chain? Just because we don't get a coaster every year (hey we did up until this year..) means we're neglected. I'd just like to hear your reasoning on this.
