I'm violating my own rules here and making a hypocrit of myself, but heck, who cares. Just look at this thing! It's the most ridiculous design ever. Hades is my favorite coaster, and this pretty much does everything it does and then much much more. Here, I'll make the thread somewhat on topic: Carowinds, get a Gravity Group woodie please! :D

LOL LOL I know exactly what you mean jon! I just saw that thing and all I can say is...well due to the nature of my verbage i cant repeat here lol lol. This is gonna be one awesome coaster! It may even make PKI take the brakes off the beast!

I hope paramount parks of whatever they wanna call themselves these days really look at wooden coasters as an option for the near, very near future.

Gets book of "places to visit 2006", rips out all the pages and writes "holiday world" over and over!

That thing looks insane. With Hammersley doing the maintenance on their coasters, you know this is one steel structured coaster that won't go down hill (*cough* Hurricane *cough*). When Holiday World does something, they do it right. Next year is definitely time to hit Indiana again.

And then you've got Beech Bend putting in their GCI. I'd say it's time for Kentucky Kingdom to be very very afraid. Although that may have already happened when Holiday World surrounded the entire park with billboards (which is a pretty hilarious sight).

CC roadtrip!

:o :o :o

That's just sick, in a good way!

I was planning on hitting Pennsylvania and NJ next year - now I'm wondering if heading a bit further west should be the new plan. Say, towards Indiana and Wisconsin......

Man, look at all those tunnels!!! And 24 seconds airtime!!! As long as this coaster is as smooth as it looks, i think they may have yet another winner on the maps. *starts planning trip to holiday world*

The fact of the matter is this: Will Koch knows coasters! There are no park presidents that I can think of that know exactly what makes a great coaster, and then has the balls (and money) to have it built. Will Koch is that person. He has openly expressed his love for wooden coasters and even asked for enthusiasts input before building the LEGEND. And the fact that Holiday World is a family owned park means they do not have to battle all the corporate BS that Paramount, Six Flags & Cedar Fair do.

The bottom line is this. HW will be a park to reckon with even more so in 2006. King's Island and Kentucky Kingdom may take a direct hit in attendance.

2006 is shaping up pretty nicely so far. Beech Bend Park and Holiday World will definately be on my "must do" list.

Yes, i have heard nothing but positive reviews from people about both of their current 2 woodies (the raven and legend)...and many even see both of these coasters as being in their top 10 favorite woodies. I imagine this one will be no different.

Raven is my # 10 (althogh it is highly overrated IMO)
Legend is my #3

Yeah, they got good wood there. :D

..........

Ok this is getting weird.

The is the 3rd time I have visited a park and the next year they got an amazing ride.

1999 first Cedar Point visit - 2000 they get Mellinnium Force
2002 second CP visit - 2003 they get Top Thrill Dragster
2005 first Holiday World visit - 2006 The Voyage!

Sad that it hasn't worked at Carowinds yet ;) j/k
