General Carowinds discussion

I was coming from Frenzoid, when I looked up at WWF, which has SBNO for quite some time now.... The lift hill had some kind of fork on it, and it was missing several parts... I didn't see the boats, except for two on the maintenance track. Is there a problem with WWF? Or is this a sign that Carowinds is beginning to remove parts of the ride for a boomerang bay expansion in 2006?? Sorry I don't have pictures, I wouldn't want to be considered a nerd by carrying around a camera.. ;) .. but i'll try to get them when i visit again...

Has anyone else noticed this???

havent been to the park in a while, yeah yeah I know..., I really hope they dont get rid of it. For all parks regardless of the park, the key elements are the water attractions because thats like the number one way to keep park guest cool but hey that didnt stop PKD for getting rid of theirs...

I've heard from a reliable source that they are NOT doing the water park next year.

But whatever they are up to, they must be planning on taking down WWF. Which is fine with me. It's a boring ride IMO.

WWF is not going anywhere, It's basically just broken. I don't think the would spend the time and money fixing the serious problem it has if they were removeing it this year.

I really could see this going either way. Even when I worked at the park 3 or 4 years ago was when it started having all the upkeep problems. So if they are still having problems I wouldn't blame them for taking it out. However, Carowinds is in the armpit of the country. It gets rather humid and hot here and the more 'cool down' attractions they have, the better for the guests. Rip Roarin' Rapids actually gets the longest line of any ride at the park - even without the tunnel/waterfall. Which brings me to my next point...I refuse to ride Rip Roarin' Rapids until they bring back the waterfall

I hope it doesn't leave. If it does then replace it with a bigger version but many people, including my dear daughter, just love to ride it then go stand on the bridge. Like she isn't wet enough after the ride. I only ride it maybe twice a year and then it is the last thing I ride.

As far as RRR goes I say rip it out and put in my Popeye ride like I.O.A. has.

It is a O.D. Hopkins Shoot the Chutes. This isn't the first time White Water Falls' lift has had problems. It is a yearly thing, in 2003, it was down for the second half of the season while a part was ordered. In 2004, it was down for a few days while they fixed it. In the end, White Water Falls is/will doom itself to removal soon.
