On every survey I took this year I always mentioned the Non raceing Thunder Road. It is not all that hard to sync them. If a little upgradeing was done they could have light beams going up the lift to speed up or slow down each train so they crest at the same time.
This is just a tthorn in my side that King's Island and King's Dominion can race theirs 95% of the time and we only race if your lucky.
Rebell Yell is ok but not as good as Thunder Road in my book. The Racer at King's Island is better than Thunder road just for the fact that every time I go the ride ops and everyone seems to enjoy the raceing more.

If they actually want to race, they should give backwards a head start, because forwards goes through the ride faster. If you ask me, I've done backwards enough, I'd rather have two tracks going forwards that actually race. Oh, and get the origional trains and themeing back, Thunder Road now has absolutely no themeing!

i hear everyone say that it never races...........thats funny because everytime i go there i always race. granted the trains may be off by a car or two but i always leave with an opposite train and always return with an opposite train. humm.........maybe its just me!! they probably get the word that im in the park that day so they make sure everything is inorder for me huh :rolleyes: .

as far as the "themeing" of thunder road...........bring back liquor stills and those trains wont do much to the whole experience. besides thunder road is a name coaster not a theme coaster



a "name" coaster= a coaster thats just name-worthy. no theme is required, the ride does fine without it.

I'm sure it won't be too hard to find some liqour stills here in NC (especially around Gaston or Cleveland Counties...LOL) to decorate the coaster. Maybe when the Coaster has its anniversary in 2006, maybe we'll get some kind of themeing back to it. I've always said Thunder Road was the first movie themed coaster around

The name "Thunder Road" is a name and a theme. Theming is any type of decoration around a ride. The thunder road theme came from the movie "Thunder Road" and original that came from Riverside Park is IL's Jetstream were theming.
