General Carowinds discussion

I visited carowinds today with my cousin. She had not been to carowinds in about 5 years, so we rode all the rides we could. One of the rides that we rode that I don't usually go on was the cyclone. We rode in the 3rd row and I was pleasantly suprised to find that my head never got banged into the OTSR. Maybe this was just a freak occurrence, but for the first time, the cyclone was actually FUN. We were actually thinking of riding again, but were short on time. Has anybody else had good experiences w/ the cyclone this year?

After that ride, I think I might like the cyclone more than the Hurler!

In what row?

For the first time in my life, I'm actually craving cyclone. I guess I know what I'll be doing for C3 ERT!

I always ride either very front row or scond from last (leg room) and I always have a great ride. Yea, it is still somewhat bumpy but always a great ride in those two spots.

Seems to me to be running the same as it always has. I've always enjoyed it a lot though; it's one of the best of the Arrow loopers, in my opinion.

Yeah, I always ride in the first row of the last car. You get yanked over the top of the lift hill and get a little air time with a bump as you go down the first drop.

In my experience, riding in the first car causes me to feel more forces through the loops (positive G's, the ones that make you feel heavy) and it feels a little rougher through the corkscrews. But the ride in the back is smooth as silk.

I sit either in the front or back and then on busy days I sit anywhere the line is shorter. B)

As i told cephas today,
Cyclone only seems better because we are tall enough to not have the head completely banged up, i reach higher on the shoulder restraints then i used to....

I rode it about three weeks ago after not having ridden it since 1998. I was only 9 then, am almost 16 now, so it makes a big difference.

Thats probably why he enjoyed it more, it is not exactly thrilling, but it was a record holder in its day and is nice to keep and ride every 5 or so years B) ....

I usually have a pretty smooth ride on the Cyclone. But about 2 years ago I went with a friend, and we rode in the front row. By the time we got off, we both felt like our heads had just been put through a blender, and we had headaches! I find riding somewhere from the middle to the back is comfortable.
