I'm sorry to hear this park is "boring" to you, but please don't assume "most people" are bored. Just be thankful you live close enough to enjoy a place like this. Most people are lucky to get to a park every other year if at all that.

If I was bored of the park, I wouldn't be going to C3. B)

I wasn't referring to myself in that post.

Interestingly enough, back in the late 90's it was in Carowinds' vocabulary. Shortly after Superman: The Escape opened at SFMM, one of the ideas that was thrown out there for Carowinds was to have a similar coaster - except it would be underground and the vertical part would be smack dab in the middle of Smurf Island.

For obvious reasons, this idea was deemed too "scary", and the general consensus was that people just wouldn't ride it. Not to mention the budget for an attraction like that was astronomical. That alone doomed the project before it ever really materialized into more than just an idea.

Just because they "thought" about it doesnt mean squat. The fact that all these years and still NOTHING has been seen in terms of a launch coaster is what i'm talking about.

About the past few posts with the park getting boring...i somewhat agree and somewhat dont. I have my usuals i always ride, my sometimes list, and my never ride that list. I always have fun at carowinds...but it's not as exciting as it used to be. Years of going to the park every year several times has not made it boring, but taken away some of the surprise and excitement. The park needs something new that is UNIQUE to our park...not another clone (though FOF i would gladly take), not a recycled ride, but something different than the other parks. Like dukefan said, we need that "signature" attraction...preferably to me a thrill ride, because we really havent gotten much of that over the years (TG and BORG are pretty much it i think...someone remind me if you can think of another that we've gotten since the addition of TG or just before). We've spent years getting family rides/coasters and making half the park NICK, now it's time we get that big thrill ride attraction to spice everything up a bit, and something NEW or really popular (BORG was great but it loses it's novelty and everyone flocks back to TG). With the popularity of the HUSS frisbees, i see that as a great possible choice that would attract guests, and it wouldnt be as expensive as a coaster. Also, a launched coaster that isnt a "family" ride, but something more for thrill riders (FOF, White Lightnin). Any thoughts on that??

Like i said, i dont in any way find the park boring or lacking (not too much at least ;) ), and while i and many others are glad to have a park nearby, it has just lost excitment over the years of riding the same things. Our full day visits have turned into half-day visits. I guess we can only wait and see!! I've been overall happy with how much the park has improved over just the past 2-3 seasons, so i can't wait to see what the next few bring

Maybe let the number talk..... Season Pass records were set this year and attendance is equal to last year which was a record.....The low price and new SP structure is based on another PP test run and it blew numbers out of the water ! NO PUN

A good amusement park is like good sex, as long as it is good, you keep coming back. Carowinds is starting to lose itself b/c it is coming apart at the seams, and the thrills are gone.

Just the thoughts of you having sex is possible the worst thing that anyone could imagine. Please do the world a favor and pinch it at the top before you roll it down.Do not want to see and Roller Jrs running around.

I see you are back to the hating ways once again. You seem to go through this once or twice a year. Maybe you could retort this on just why you think that this park is coming apart at the seams and is lost. Please have evidence that supports your claim.

Especially since they broke 2 million last year. That's a lot of thrills that are gone.

I think we will this year too.

Now, this is just wild speculation, I'm not saying it will happen in '06 and I'm not saying it will even happen at all...just think about it though...

What if PKI or PKD removed their FOF for a custom B&M? Neither park has a B&M, and there is construction relatively close to PKD's FOF this year. What if one of these parks removed their FOF and sent it to carowinds? The coaster could be set up and recieve the MTV theme! Carowinds would no longer be lacking a launched coaster and we could steal even more rides from other paramount parks! :P
