Anyways, lets see:
1)The wooden coasters are getting too rough to ride.
2)The Boardwalk Stage is sitting there unused.
3)Access roads are in plain sight.
4)The waterpark lacks organization.
5)During parts of the season, the park is understaffed.
6)Some of the food in the park is nasty.
7)The shows aren't running(on days), but they still annouce that they will be performed.

I encourage those who have comments send them to the park. They are read and esp those concerning bad employees etc!

Translation: WAAAAAAAHHHHH WAAAAAAAHHHH

OMG theres a stage in the boardwalk area!1!!11!!

3)Access roads are in plain sight.

Maybe if you spent more of your time enjoying the park instead of snooping around trying to find the cure for the common cold you wouldnt notice them, besides at almost every park you they are visible...

4)The waterpark lacks organization.

Yeah, it also lacks skinny people but do you hear me complaining?

5)During parts of the season, the park is understaffed.

Well fill out an application, you sound like you need a job, or a shrink or something...

6)Some of the food in the park is nasty.

And im sure your a regular Wolfgang Puck yourself right...I have never had bad food at the park.

7)The shows aren't running(on days), but they still annouce that they will be performed.

Like you actually go there for the shows, be for real dude...

Besides dont you have your own faithful message board deticated to the park you love soo much, why dont you go post your negative B.S. over there...Oh yeah, you want people to actually read what you write, understandable...

I would like to know why there is all this negativity toward the park? People aren't satisfied that LAST YEAR we got a FLYING COASTER with quite extensive themeing - something you won't find at any Six Flags park (with the exception of the new Kingda Ka section at SFGAdv). Obviously Carowinds isn't going to put in some huge a** coaster every f***ing year - quit your b****ing! Sorry for all the explicitives...just some people are ungreatful.

Typically you will notice that the members who have not been to many parks (usually, but not always, the younger members), have absolutely no appreciation of what they have in Carowinds.

Well, once again, I have to make re-post to clarify HOW I feel about our awesome park. I will have humbly to disagree with RollerNut. Let's face it,
Carowinds is awesomefied! Here are some of the best things about the
park:

Great Coasters - They have one of the best collections anywhere.. IMHO.
Four great woodies (including a Mine Style), a nice corkscrew (CC), one
of the best inverts anywhere (Top Gun), a flyer (Great themeing on
Borg), a standup (The second one ever made) and a very rare water-based
invert (Super Saturator). And lets not forget that they have a junior
invert (Reptar), junior woodie (Scooby) and Junior Steel (Taxi Jam).
These are perfect "Starter" coasters for new young riders. Try to think
of another park with 3 Juniors, they are hard to find. Carowinds has an
enviable collection of coasters overall when compared with almost any
other park.

Good flats - One area that could be improved. They do have Drop-Zone,
one of the best drops period, an original scrambler/merry mixer which
are always fun, RRR a really good water ride which has improved with
it's modifications, the theatre with very entertaining shows, great
bumpers and a sky flyer among others.

Great Food - Country Kitchen and Wings both offer really good food and
nice atmosphere IMHO. And I understand that Outer Hanks is really good,
though I havn't personally tried it yet (I know, my bad.), These places
are well maintained and quite clean as well.

Great Atmosphere - The Carolina Boardwalk area is one of my favorite
places in any park. It's the perfect blend of old style Carowinds and a
fresh new attitude, I love that! (and great coasters too! ;)

Great Employees - Sure, you get a cranky one no matter where you go but
for the most part, I find Carowinds employees to be courtious, helpful
and quite knowledgeable.

Great Website (http://www.carowindsconnection.com) - Jonathon Hawkins has a
great site there. Dedicated to our park with alot of intelligent and
interesting people contributing. Kudos to Jon-Boy!

I have met many cool people through Carowinds and CarowindsConnection
too! Jonathan, Jay, Dave, Foreseer and many others. I like our park and
the people i've met because we can all just go to an event like C3 and
have a good time without all the politics and stupid crap that goes on
with alot of other events. It's about having fun and that's what we do!
Sort of like the Monkees, I'm too busy riding to put any coaster down.
Or something like that.

^ I will have to chime in here. Alan, I echo your sentiments about Carowinds.
Many times it's much easier to complain about something than it is to compliment something. Typically, by human nature, we look for the negatives first. Happens in many situations. RollerNut's long list of negatives could be easily out weighed by the positives that Carowinds has to offer.

Myself, and others here have made negative remarks (which I don't regret) about some of the decisions the park has made in the past. That's perfectly fine. Like any business, bad decisions are made occasionally. It's impossible to please everyone.

But for those unhappy with Carowinds, get out there and travel some. Start with Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom :o
Sure, there are plenty of parks that may be considered "better", but Carowinds is miles from being a bad park. Through my extensive travels to other parks around the world, we certainly have a gem here. I read quite a few amusement park forums on the internet and the majority of first time visitors to Carowinds seem to be very impressed and surprised at what a nice park it is.

NOW, back to the topic at hand......
Max, when are they going to make the darn announcement about our new coaster??

LOL!

They do have Drop-Zone, one of the best drops period

*Thinks of PKI, PKD, Kennywood, Cedar Point, Knott's, Stratosphere Tower, SFFT, SFOG, and SFGAm and questions that statement.*

Drop Zone is an awesome flat, but it isn't one of the 'best drops period.' I guess its all personal opinion anyways...

And im sure your a regular Wolfgang Puck yourself right...I have never had bad food at the park.

I've had some un-edible chicken at Board Wok. Oh well, I guess thats just personal opinion too...

Dukefanswimmer and I spent 7 hours at the park today and still had plenty left to do when we left. There was just so much to do. I love how its had to be bored at carowinds. B)

I think what people are saying is that compared to the others which are soo tall you know that your gonna be in for a gut wrenching ride and those large seating formats on the more recent trop towers dont help either. Also the S&S towers are fun (only been on dooms fall) but for what its work I honestly thought it was boring besides the launch), however drop zone at carowinds is a very slender tower and from the ground it doesnt look like much but when your on it its soo tall and with only 60 ft to slow you down it feels like you drop all the way to the bottom. and you dont have the other cars soo close to you like on the 6 car models so its like your there alone. Thats just my take im sure others are similar.

Yeah, I thought Dr. Doom was pretty sucky too, thats why I didn't list IOA.

I don't really mind if drop rides start braking pretty far up the tower, I would much rather have a longer freefall...

...but as I said...
I guess its all personal opinion anyways...

i don't think i have been necessarily negative (if those comments were pointing at me), I was just pointing out that Carowinds needs that 'signature' attraction like TG was in 1999....

Borg, as someone mentioned is great for the first time rider, but won't bring thrill enthusiasts from around the world to ride...

I really think Carowinds has an awesome lineup, great employees, and the food isn't necessarily that bad [i agree that the food in Wings/nicktoons is by far the best]...

as for drop zone, i wish it were higher! it is great and fun to have (i rode it 16 in a row today, 21 total, a minicamp for when i beat Carowindsfreak's record lol - side note srry)... i agree that the four-car feeling is great... as is the breaks near the bottom of tower (the two that face NC break further down...) but it would be nice to be taller (PKD, PKI height would be awesome!)

as for the employees- overall they are great. i agree. The flyer crew at this morning's ERT were much less then that. The woman, cephas and i called her 'Ms. Happy.' was slow on purpose, complaining to us, and snapping at the other employees.... The TG crew is usually friendly, the lady named Eunice always allows rerides if there is an empty seat.. The drop zone crew is the best i've seen in the park, at least the crew this morning. After seeing us ride about 2-3 times, they began interacting, talking, and exciting us...wanting us to beat any record out there, and even allowing us rerides when people were in line. I have never had problems with TG or Drop Zone crew members... the flyers crew, well.. its incosistent...

They seem to have doubled the number to four now... but it seems as if they got rid of 2 semi-hard working employees, and got 4 people twice as lazy... maybe it was just that kind of day....

if we get a coaster, hopefully it isn't another copy (IJST esp...) and it'll be that signature attraction carowinds really needs.. otherwise, the park rocks, and we're lucky to live so close to it...

LOL!

The Chic-Fil-A Transsexual told me today to expect it in 2007. It'll be a hyper that goes under the bridge, does a hammerhead ALA Nitro, and goes back through the bridge again on the return trip. They really want to maximize this whole bridge thing.

Compared to what? If you know where to ride (and if you post on this board and claim to be a regular you should by now) they are some really great rides. Obviously they are not quite Hades or Thunderhead or anything of that nature, but they are tons better than what most other parks of comparable size put out (read PKI). For me, Hurler and both Thunder Roads are running the best they have in years.

And after riding Fandango at Knoebels a week or so ago I REALLY hope Carowinds gets a Huss Giant Frisbee (or even a small Moser version just like Fandango for that matter) and *not* a new coaster...
