Recently a few days ago i was coming into work and i noticed a lot of RVs back in the campground. At the moment i cannot remember what the group was who were using it but hey at least it was open for somebody. I will give further news as i find out more about whats going on.

on my 21 rides on DZ yesterday (looking to see if topdog01's hints were validated), I saw no flags or footers, but merely the clearing that has been there ( i think for fireworks shows when they shot them up behind the hurler in previous years.. ), and the campground.. beyond the trees there was a winding road and some things i couldn't distinguish, i didn't know that those were RVs.... we also saw the riverqueen smokestacks, buried under some extra Nick Central signs...

Interestingly, the park's website and information still state the campground has been closed for further notice, i wonder if anyone else knows why there are people there....

i've always thought the campground would make a great expansion area for the park... and i thought that the closing of the campground was signaling this in coming years, but if the campground is open, maybe i was wrong...

I thought that that dirt road that led back into the middle of the woods was interesting...I'd never noticed it before...

Campground is open for park workers. No big deal there! Construction will be ongoing in the campground to upgrade the facilities.

There is a large group that travels around and works and for a while they will be at carowinds thats why there ar RV's at the campground. It is not open to the public.

Basically they just fixed up a few sites and some minor stuff for the group.
