Maybe they just haven't finished copying yet as they have made no announcement yet. Surely they don't want to spill the beans before the Official Announcement?

i actually do think we're getting a boomerang bay... just trying to play devil's advocate, and hoping for a coaster or a couple of flats...

and if we do, we'd better get a tornado! those are fun! - a master blaster would be nice too - :rolleyes:

I still put my money on a County Fair revamp before Boomerang Bay. County Fair has been around for decades and the water park was revamped in mid to late 90's ('97 or '98?). Not to mention the water park got Pipeline Peak just a couple years ago, while County Fair suffered the loss of two great rides with nothing to replace them. The Wild Bull left when Top Gun was put in, then the Whirling Dervish was taken out for Flight School - talk about a HUGE mistake! They haven't operated that in the past couple years, nothing is even there. Add to that Thunder Road's 30th birthday, whatever that means, and I think a County Fair revamp is the most plausible outcome for 2006.

What if they rethemed BOTH country fair AND waterworks for 2006! It might be a little big, but carowinds could invite the PKI construction crew down for the winter. Think about it...maybe a gravitron, delerium, master blaster, AND tornado all in the same year... Not likely, but still something to drool over...

It looks to me like carowinds is gearing up to become PP's flagship...

We have the two 'signature attractions' PP has developed: The B&M Invert (i guess the Intamin Blast at PKD could go side-side w/ this), and the Vekoma Flying Dutchman....

Plus, w/ the Boomerang Bay revamp, we would only need one more 'big' coaster to set us apart (rumored to come in 2007). My guess is that this would come

I would love to see Carowinds become thier Flagship park but I just don't see that happening. It would take a ton off things to happen for that to materialize. I just hope we get the Golden Ticket for Nick.

At last years C3 didn't Dave say something about us have 2 gates and the fact that County Fair and Waterworks were on the list but they were still trying to figure out what and how? I wish I could remember the specifics but I do remember hearing something along those lines. It just seemed to me that they either wanted to do away with it or revamp the whole South Gate area and incorporate County Fair. Also I remember him saying something about a better entrance to Water Works.

Any one who was there with a better memory can jump in please.

We all know the areas of the park that have not been Hollywoodized yet but what and how they will do it is still fun trying to figure it out.

So, my idea, as there aren't enough going around:

1. Tear up the parking area beside T.R. from the Platinum Pass parking.
2. Tear down the South Gate.
3. Build a new South Gate the runs along the parking area by T.R. Basically blocking off that entire section.
4. Inside the new gate about 70-100 feet put up a new Entrance to Boomerang Bay. Use the 70-100 feet of empty space for Restrooms, customer service. Customers would just have to make a turn to the right to enter the park or go straight to go into B.B.
5. Build a NEW Boomerang Bay in the tore up parking lot by T.R. It would not have to completely fill up the space but would give plenty off room for expansion.
6. What of the emptied area that Water works occupied? Dream of possabilities of that empty area and County Fair.

or even later being that it opens later than the rest of the park. I remember when water works came to the park, the park was still open but construction was still going strong in the water park!

At one time Carowinds did have a totally separate entrance to the waterpark from the parking lot. It made it so much easier for the people who wanted only to do the waterpark and not the amusement park. I would like to see a separate entrance from the outside of the park return in some form.

Thunder Road has at least 1 (maybe 2) cut-thrus already big enough to drive a truck under. The one down towards the turnaround could be used as a means for a waterpark entrance. In fact, I think that is where the old outside entrance was way back.

I love Forseer's idea about revamping waterworks. I wouldn't mind seeing them relocate the waterpark to the old camp ground site. They still could use the waterworks site to expand as Forseer saw in his dream.

Like PKI, have some type of trasnportation system i.e. train, shuttle(tram), trolley etc. to transport from the main park to the water park. Also have a seperate entrance to the waterpark for guest not wanting to enter the main park.

Finally build some type of resort hotel, cottages or some other lodging facilities to go along with the water park expansion.

Much speculation continues which is what we want. There have been a few ideas going back and forth however the choices have been made. I think we are very fortunate this year when all is said and done. P>S Your tram will return

It makes alot of since to make Carowinds the "flagship" since PP is located in Charlotte. Love Foreseer's idea....they need to hirer you as a park planner!
