General Carowinds discussion

On ultimate roller coaster site, someone wrote in that their season pass flyer stated that for 2006 PCW would be getting Mission Impossible Stunt Show, Nickeldeon Parade and new movie for the FX Theatre. Man I hope Carowinds gets something more thrilling than this for 2006.

that stinks for them....

but then again, they are one of the, IMO, 'neglected parks' of the PP chain.. the other one being PGA (with the exception of the addition of IJST for PCW this season...)

i think PGA will end up getting IJST as PKD will....PGA needs a coaster... badly.

I hope we get a big waterpark revamp or a couple of flats... i'm not thinking PC will go coaster in 06, though that would be a very pleasant surprise.....

Will someone help me understand why a park NEEDS a coaster. I look at parks like dollywood and islands of adventure just to name a few and they have less coasters than most parks around but yet and still they are great parks.

And welcome muffballs, or should I say emerson (well it is night) !

PGA needs to replace their loss w/ stealth gone

i mean, boomerang bay was pretty crappy at PGA, not like PKI, plus they have already lost their signature attraction.. i'd say they could use the coaster more then us this year....

oh and to cephas' comment... i was actually thiking Hyper Hydraulic Launched Floorless ;)

hey - has anyone thought how cool a flyer would be with a half loop just after the lift hill... i think that would be awesome....[was messing around in RCT2 and discovered how cool it looked, sorry but a little off topic..]

Again I ask, why does a park need to add a coaster because they got rid of one. From what I know the attendance never felt a slack and if anything it went up after stealth and greezed lightning left the park...so again, why does a park NEED a coaster?

Dont get me wrong a coaster would be nice but again I ask...

^Most of the PGA fans I know wouldn't mind seeing them REMOVE another coaster. The Grizzly is notorious for being possibly the worst wooden coaster in the US. Some have referred to it as a "Scenic Railway". It's such a shame, especially since it's counterpart at PKD simply kicks a$$.

it depends what you consider 'need.'

i guess it also depends on the context of the use of 'need..'

its not like PGA 'needs' it or they'll die [or numbers will go down],

but compared to other PPs, which was what i was trying to do, it could use a coaster more then some of the other parks in the chain...(really, more then all of them..)...

I mean, you could argue, that Astroworld doesn't 'need' a coaster [to survive], but in reality, to continue to serve the best to the park patron, it should add something at least every twenty years... and it's overdue to add....that's what i meant by need...

I guess using another word would've been better, sorry 'bout that.....
