I was informed today that Carowinds did not win "Best Kids Area" on the 2005 Golden Ticket Awards from <a href='http://www.amusementtoday.com/' target='_blank'>Amusement Today</a>.

Carowinds did a phenomenol job on the new Nick Central kids area and I am sorry it did not get the recognition it deserved.

On the other hand, I am happy the honor went to a Paramount Park.

Well after really visiting the PKI kids area for the first time (we just kind of skipped it the other trips). I must say they do have an impresssive collection of rides.

The area is HUGE too.

I hope PC at least made it into the Top 5.

it is sad to see that carowinds didn't get what it deserves... but does it ever??? I mean TG is pretty underrated for what a great B&M invert it is... and so is Borg, even though it has its problems, it has landed perfectly into carowinds, and seams into the place really well, plus it isn't that bad a ride, one of vekoma's [if not the] finest....

I was sure we were going to get it this year though, they did an AWESOME job revamping the area....

Well you've got to look at this way, Carowinds was never recoginzed on a national scale at all until Top Gun came along six years ago.

You've got some people that would never visit the park simply for the fact that they have several clones of other Paramount Park rides.

Oh well, I know Carowinds has done a really good job over the past 4 or 5 years improving the park. We'll just have to go and invade PKICentral and tell them. lol

I made an error. It was "Best Kids Area" not "Best New Kids Area"

The officail announcement for the 2005 Golden Tickets will be Aug. 27 at a 4 p.m. at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. Guess we will indeed find out if you have to put another person on your list that day.

Well I guess this is official and can be talked about since it was mentioned at C3 yesterday but Carowinds cracked the Top 5 for the first time ever for kids area!!!!

I guess I won't say what spot they got since it's not officialy released yet, but Carowinds was talking about it so I guess it ok. I wont' say which spot they got, but what's the thing you yell on the golf course? You know that number!?! Well it's one better than that! lol
