^ I agree.

Hmmm... maybe our Carowinds reader will see this and take the idea and run with it.

It is the 30th anniversary next year after all.

TR is running great lately and I'd like to see ACE or someone put a spotlight on it next year.

Just thought of some ideas I thought I'd pass along to you all.

I have been thinking of T.R. 30th birthday and had a few ideas about it.

Since most of us love the tracks painted I think we all agree how much upkeep that is and alot of time and money spent to keep it looking that way. I've gotten used to it and actually like the natural look now so I say leave it like it is.

Here are my ideas:

1. Redo the station in this manor. Make the backwards side look like an old backwoods moonshine area/shed. Even put a fake Still and stuff inside the turn as the train leaves the station.

2. Redo the forwards side to look like an old police station. Inside the track as it leaves the station you could put an old police car there.

3. Add a plaque or two that gives the history of Thunder Road and how it came to be along with movie stills posted about.

4. I'd also like to see some trees planted around it somehow to kind of give you that feeling you are being chased through the old mountain roads like it was.
I personaly don't like looking at the parking lot.

5. It would also be nice to see the ops on the forward side wear Cop uniforms and ops on the backwards side wear old hillbilly outfits.

I just thought that since the park is getting good on decorations and themeing this would be a great way to spruce up the ole gal for her birthday.

^ Great ideas!

You know it would have been nice if Paramount could have maybe planned a year ahead and revamped Thunder Road and County Fair all in 2006 and that way celebrate Thunder Road in a "Dollywood" style way! lol

I just wish they'd get County Fair to look like a fair again. *I miss the swings*.

:( Too bad my 1st coaster got scrapped. It was Little rock-n-rollercoaster at Opryland in 82. Why did it take me 10 years to finally ride a coaster?

I was terrified of Scooby Doo before then. I didn't finally ride it for the 1st time till I was about 15.

^ Yeah when am I supposed to be there to help paint? lol

I can see it now...

Jarvis would be there videoing us (and not painting).
Wes would fall off of the lift hill on his way up.
Mark would put us all to shame and paint the whole thing in a day.
Jonathan would not be there (since he's at that certain school now).
Jay would be like, paint...what's that?
