You know, in all my times going to Dollywood, I always thought it was County Fair. Guess that shows how much I pay attention to things.

That WAS Thunder Rd right? I've never seen those trains before. They must have removed the front of the trains at that point because of the weight issue Scott talked about Saturday. I love history of parks and his explanation about why they removed the old trains made a lot of since and made me very sad as well that I will never see them in person, because they were scrapped. :(

I think I'll start a thread whenever I can get the entire photo scanned. Aside from the Hillbilly and Granny, it really is a beautiful photo that shows TR in pristine condition. It must have been taken right after the ride opened, because the paint doesn't look greasy or chipped.

As for the trains, pretty sure those are the same ones from Riverview. If I recall, Swampfox said in another thread the coaster ran the RV trains for a while without the car-themed fronts on them because they kept falling off.

Yep, those are the old Jetstream trains that were mentioned by Scott during the question/answer session in the Paramount Theater during CCC.

A few pictures of the Jetstream (aerial photo) and the original postcard showing the "knitting grandma" can be seen HERE.

Ok, am I the only one still anxious about the 2006 improvements? Or, is everyone stuck on SFOG?

Maybe it's just me but it seems as if Paramount is late at all thier parks announcing the 2006 line-ups. A little here and there pops up but I haven't read anything official yet.

your not along mark im still wondering what its gonna happen but for the next 2 days im kinda S.O.S(f) (Stuck on Six Flags). Not just because its a hyper coaster, but the fact that everyone is making a big deal about it. Basically I want to see if its living up to the hype and worth loosing great gasp over!

While I'm excited about the "gigantic" happenings at SFOG, I'm also ready to see what PC is getting.

I'm just to the point these days where I'll just wait and see what the park gets.

Like Scott said at C3, they are still waiting on CBS to make a decision. No comment (on CBS). lol

I think carowinds should build a hydrolic launch coaster, a small awesome one similar to kannoen but a tad bit bigger or even one like superman down in aussie and call it "David-the coaster that overpowered goliath, the southeast tallest rollercoaster...opening april 1st 2006...only at six flags over georgia..the super park of the south." ;)

Park News - (9/2/05) Screamscape has heard a rumor claiming that the Frenzoid (Looping Starship) may close down forever after Labor Day weekend is over. Anyone know more?

i guess the inevtiable may be coming sooner then expected...

i doubt its true though, the park prob. still hasn't made the decision...

from what i understand last week was the last time for Frenzoid so if you wanted ur last ride on it, it might just be a little late

You know that wouldn't totally surprise me if say they are putting in a new coaster/flat or whatever there.

They could also take that space and use it to expand the Water park.

I wonder if this has anything to do with all the work they've been doing on White Water Falls?

We can never know about the days to come
But we think about them anyway
And I wonder now if I’m really insane
Or just chasing after some finer day.

Anticipation, anticipation
Is making me late
Is keeping me waiting

And I tell you how easy it is to be insane
And how right my thoughts are to blame
Bit I rehearsed these words just late last night
When I was thinking about how right I might be.

Anticipation, anticipation
Is making me late
Is keeping me waiting

And tomorrow I might not be together
I’m no prophet, I don’t know natures way
So I’ll try to see into my mind right now
And stay right here, ’cause these are the good old days.

Anticipation, anticipation
Is making me late
Is keeping me waiting

Well, if they are going to shut down the Frenzoid and White Water Falls, and these rides are BESIDE the water park area, it stands to reason that the only logical thing to do is to....

TADA.......

Expand the water park into that area............

So, I'm betting on a Boomerang Bay expansion.

Cheaper than a Coaster anyhow.

But I could be wrong.................... Nahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....
