Episode 6...er...Update # 6 - The Final Chapter

Ok so you know we are getting close to the end of Wes' amazing race...

After School of Rock I headed back over to Nick Central to finish up the day.

On to the only ride in the park that makes me sick... Boot's (from Dora the Explorer) Balloon Race! Don't ask me why, but this thing makes me nauseas every time. This ride will probably be my last ever on it too! It's sad too, such a cool looking little ride especially at night.

I hit the Nick-O-Round and it's classic PTC goodness...

As stated earlier the back of Nick Central was closed, so after Boot's I headed over to Dora the Explorer's Azul Adventure (the jr. train). I was not impressed with the whole ride in much the way I was not the first and only other time I rode it (opening day). At least this time I could actually hear Dora and her annoying song "We did it! We did it!". The whole ride is just kind lacking. I know it's for kids, but they could have done better IMO than just having cardboard cutouts stuck in the ground.

Over to The Flying Dutchman's Revenge (and no I'm not talking about Borg). This ride came to us from Paramount Canada's Wonderland. To look at it, it looks like it wouldn't be very fun for an adult. However it does give some good little "floating airtime" moments on the hills especially if you raise your hands. It's a fun ride and I just hit it once.

Rocket Power Air Time (a rainbow type ride) was closed.

On to The Wild Thornberry's River Adventure (formerly Powder Keg Flume).

I don't know what they did to this thing over the winter last year but it is getting you really soaked these days! Which is a good thing because it used to just spray you a bit.

Now as promised here is my other on-ride from the day. I call this look my "Oh crap I'm really going to get wet on this thing!" look. Oh crap I didn't want to get wet!

After getting a nice cool off, I headed towards the front gate and stopped off for some shopping. I picked up a magnet (which I've started collecting from parks) and also a very cool new Top Gun t that has a graphic that looks like a comic book. This is definitely one of the coolest t's Paramount Parks has come out with in a while. For some reason I had never bought a Top Gun t, even though it's my favorite coaster in the park.

And with that Wes crossed the finish line of his Amazing Race!

In all I rode all of the coasters (except for Hey Arnold's Taxi Chase) and all of the flat rides/water rides that were open. I stopped off at Happy Day's Diner for lunch, saw the School of Rock Live Show and I even did some shopping!

All in all this was an awesome day at the park. If you find yourself at the park on a day where the crowds are very light (or even if they aren't) try to do your own Amazing Race. It's a fun way to see the park and like me, you might have forgotten how fun some of the rides are that you usually skip when going to ride Top Gun or Borg.

I must say major kudos to the staff of Paramount's Carowinds. They were so friendly and helpful that day. 5 stars all the way!

In closing...if you have actually read all of my updates...well...thank you! I wonder why someone would read my ramblings, but strange things do happen.

Have a good day and see you at the park!

Yeah, it was definitely a new take on how to do a trip report. Quite an impressive day in the park, as well.

Thanks guys.

Yeah that on-ride was just too funny to pass on. Plus I've never gotten an on-ride from that ride.

The only one I lack right now is Ricochet and it seems that they will never run the booth again. lol
