General Carowinds discussion

....And decided to build a Hyper Coaster which followed the path of the old Monorail outside of the park into the parking lot towards I-77?

I know we would get a lot of mixed reactions on the board. Probably most enthusiast would celebrate getting such a ride, but be critical on the location due to it being slapped down on top of a parking lot (much like Six Flags).

I personally think that if they ever did this, they could please both sides. Inside the park use extensive theming with the station house and ques. Then outside the park hide all the footers with extensive landscaping.

Not to mention we would get a lot of attention from I-77 ;)

Myself personally I'd rather they do this... *giggles at first part*

Put the first drop under the bridge. *giggles again*

Have 2nd or 3rd hill over top or right in front of the gate where you pay to park.

Have a nice, huge gforce-filled helix out in the field where the little pond used to be.

Then head back into the park... <insert that Paramount Imagination here>.

Possible names I'd like to use:

Enterprise
Red October (one of my favorite Parmaount flicks, but I can't see that as a hyper name)
Mission Impossible
Ferris Bueller's Day...oh wait.

Enterprise would be really awesome considering we already have Borg. I can see it now "In 2004 the Borg Collective invaded Paramount's Carowinds. Now in 2007 the fleet is answering back with Enterprise!".

Hey...it could happen.

Of those names i would like Mission Impossible the best. Maybe there's some better names out there from the thousands of Paramount movies.

I don't see a huge problem useing Titanic as the name for a hyper. It would be the perfect theme imo for Paramount to use.

I think it's been long enough that it's just a part of our history now and not many people can truely say the don't what that neame used because that night remindes of death & fear. Not many people are around from that night, on the ship or family's of the dead or survivors.

I'd say go with the name Titanic and see what happens. I doubt there would be a public outcry.

^ Titanic would be a more probable name,

it's comparable to Goliath or Titan [means gigantic...] but better, b/c you have the soundtrack, movie clips, and opportunity to theme it like the movie....

I personally do not like having a coaster themed around Titanic.

To me that's about like having "9/11 The Ride! - Ride the towers to the ground!"

Uh, no.

Just because it happened a long time ago, doesn't mean we should be making lite of it.

I like the Titanic idea....a monstrous hyper that dives under the bridge, through an underwater tunnel, etc.....
