I second that.

Not just the name, but how would you tie the Titanic disaster to a roller coaster? Yea, "Titanic" means large, but other than that the theme would be pointless...

It didnt stop universal making a ride after the great quake of california or a ride based off of a killer tornado...

Titanic would be the only perfect name for a hyper and i think Paramount should use it.

I'm with dukeis#1 on this one. It really has no relevance to a coaster. The earthquake ride was just that - it simulated an earthquake. I don't see how a hyper simulates a ship sinking in an icey ocean.

If you want to go with a movie name, what about War of the Worlds themeing? Or the new Aeon Flux action flick with Charlize Theron? Or perhaps the sequal to the Italian Job, the Brazilian Job?

if im not mistaken the ride is based on the earthquake that actually happen in california...

atleast thats what all the pictures in the pre-show area are of and they talk about it there.

Earthquake at Universal Studios is based on the fictional 1974 disaster movie. Not an actual quake that occured.

It dosen't have to be themed to the movie Titanic. Just call it Titanic & place large letters at the entrance that say Titanic like Goliath. Thats enough themeing for me.

It dosen't have to be about the actuall ship.

They really cant except for maybe the station and que line but i was just saying putting large letters at the entrance like Goliath. That would be plenty of themeing, pretty much all you can do on a hyper.

you know i didn't even realize that i'd been on a hyper until cephas told me today that it was one, dont like the trims though.... (pretty expensive too, 12.50!)

i don't see why not titanic..... its not like they'd have to make it seem like a shipwreck, they could just theme the entrance/queue/station really well..

plus it was a really popular movie that's not too far off, and the word fits a large coaster....

i mean, what are the other possibilities? King Kong [remaking movie this year, but is it even paramount?], and Godzilla...

i prefer titanic...

Oh god, let's not do the Godzilla thing again. Top Gun was supposed to be called Godzilla. I'm glad they changed their minds.

^ so am I...

it was a bomb of a movie.......

Bring on 'TITANIC' a real hyper, in 2007!!! [don't forget that it goes under the bridge, and does the turn around in that huge area between the parking lot and mall!]
