I think it's cool that a lot of parks are starting blogs now. Holiday World must have started a trend!

On a related note-

What happened to the Parkfeedback forums? I can't seem to find them anywhere... (Sorry if it's obvious ;) )

I just got this today about the Park Feedback forums:

Dear Jonathan:

Good afternoon! If you're receiving this, it means that you were among those who visited/participated in our experimental online discussion system. As of a couple of days ago the software has officially stopped working, and will unfortunately need to stay down until it is replaced with the newer software we've been working on.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for your participation. I (obviously) have your e-mail address on file and will let you know as soon as we are up and running again.

In the meantime, you may be interested to visit our new blog, which we've set up for the purpose of sharing information with those of you who are on our survey panel who have requested the opportunity to view some of the results of the surveys we conduct over the course of the year. The blog, called "Paramount Parkfeedback" can be reached at http://www.parkfeedback.com/blog. This is also the site where we'll be posting regular results of our research-related drawings.

As always, thank you so much for your time and especially for your feedback!

Sincerely,

Mark Kupferman

On another note, this quote from Mr. Kupferman in the blog disturbed me:

(personally I love steel coasters and prefer not to ride wooden coasters whenever I can avoid it)

That's because he probably rode the Myrtle Beach Hurricane~

That is disturbing news. All too often, people will unknowingly ride the roughest, unmaintained wooden coasters out there and then they are left with an indelible impression that can't be shook.

Kinda like the "scarred for life" kid that got bit by a dog when they were 5, and now they hate ALL dogs....

Mr Kupferman, please go ride Thunderhead at Dollywood, Hades at Mt. Olympus, Boulderdash at Lake Compounce, just to name a few. Then report back to the blog....

Blue Streak at Cedar Point, my favorite wooden roller coaster. Blue Streak is heaven even when compared TTD.

I've ridden a number of wooden coasters and there are some I enjoy (The Beast at Kings Island is a great ride, and who can resist an spin on Thunder Road every once in a while?).

I just happen to like steel coasters more.

Not that it matters....I'm certainly not the one who decides which rides go into the parks...and when we ask our guests what kind of coasters they enjoy most I only report the results -- I don't actually vote.

In other words, you are only the messenager. I ride Thunder Road every time I visit but the Hurler on the other hand I prefer to skip. It is nice to see that Paramount Parks employees come by the site sometimes.

I feel better knowing that Mark.
:D :D

I would hate to think that one persons "personal" preference dictates what a large chain like Paramount or Six Flags would get.

On the other hand, smaller parks like Mt Olympus and Holiday World have owners that prefer wood. And that is OK by me!

I keep saying ride in the front seat.. it blows Blue Streak away.

Welcome to the boards Mark, try not to lurk too much. :D Do yourself a favor and get to Dollywood.

Glad to see the park is keeping more in touch with its enthusiasts.
