When I was checkin out construction on labor day weekend, I noticed the purple slide (I think its called the Abyss) is in the way for any water park expansion in the direction of frenzoid. Unless the connecting pathway to the expansion goes through WWF, or if WWF/Abyss meets it's maker...which I seriously doubt will happen...I think were gonna see a flat ride next year.

Bulldozers can work miracles (or tragedies depending on how you look at it). Who would've ever dreamed that one day the island would disappear and we'd have a connecting walkway directly through the middle of the park?

Anything is possible. WWF could be relocated.

I'm still leaning towards <a href='http://members.aol.com/earlywinds/overview2c.jpg' target='_blank'>waterpark expansion</a>.

As we all look at the ariel photos of Carowinds has anyone noticed the size of our wave pool verses the size of the pond at Frenzoid?

As Swampfox says buldozers can work miracles.

I guess in about 72 hours, give or take, we might just find out whats going on.

They could route a pathway around the Abyss...there is plenty of room between it and Thunder Road.

Where is the extra 6 million comming from?

And also I was just looking at PKI's website and saw that BB is only 15 acres...thats not much bigger than WW!

sorry, i just saw 13 million on another thread and put that number.. i'll change it.. but even so, 7 - 6.5!!! a few slides or the top woodie in the world...

I still appreciate whatever we get, i just think its funny that such a great coaster is kind of inexpensive in the scheme of new rides...

but can you take a kid who's 40 inches on that top wooden coaster?

And I think the cost of voyage is low because its using steel supports vs wooden...

So, with all the talk on money I wonder what the parks budget is.

If they skimp here and there could they "bank" that money for a truly expensive attraction or do they have to "sell" their ideas to the top brass.

It is so much less expensive to re-furbish an attraction than it is to but a new one. I noticed how much they fe-furbed in our Nick area while bringing in 3 new attractions.

So, my finall question is what is cheaper, a county fair makeover or a B.B. makeover?

I got some pics yesterday of a "topless" Frenzoid!

I'll try and post the pics later today.

You know after walking around County Fair section yesterday it really doesn't look like they will be doing the water park.

Consider the fact that White Water Falls has been worked on and it was running yesterday! Does that sound like a water park expansion? To me it does not.

Why would they only expand the water park over to where Frenzoid is? That would make 0 sense. Seems to me that they would take out White Water Falls in the process for much more room.

From looking at what's going on, to me, it looks like they are doing County Fair next year, not the water park.

Also consider the fact that they just repainted the sign for County Fair, but the County Fair sign is gone.

I'll probably be wrong as usual, but to me all signs point to County Fair expansion. Not Water Park expansion. Oh and they aren't doing anything in the water park. It's just sitting there as normal.

If the park does decide to expand the waterpark, I would like to think maybe they would somehow integrate Whitewater Falls into it, and possibly retheme it. I've seen a few other parks that have integrated their shoot the chutes with their waterpark; I know it would make me much more likely to ride it if I could ride in a swimsuit, just like Flying Super Saturator.

Probably the big square thing on top (the weight) is gone.
