Once there was a man who took a trip to the beach....
I got there, rode Swamp Fox after paying 5 dollars, pretty nice coaster in the back seat. FK is more of a fair than an amusement park. I went up to the Pavilion only to find that it was closed, and it looked like it wasn't going to be open for a while. :(
Could this be the end of the Pavilion. Seeing FK for the first time, makes me glad to be a Carowinds nut, needless to say, I ain't never whining about Carowinds again.

The plans for the Pavilion area haven't come together so I doubt that its going to be permanently closed anytime soon.

I've never understood the negativity about FK, especially from some of the "younger" posters. Somebody on another board *cough* TN *cough* said it was a dump. Its not meant to be something spectacular. In fact, that's part of its charm. Its right there at the beach. The view from the SF is breathtaking. Just breath that nice ocean air. Its not that bad of a park.

Its got some decent flats (unlike Carowinds) and a killer wooden coaster that kicks arse (unlike Carowinds..although the Hurler when its running good can come close.) The Pisterelo isn't a bad ride even though its fairly short.

I ditto your comments about Family Kingdom Max. I mean, what were you expecting RollerNut? It's a classic seaside amusement park. It's always been clean when I am there. Nice assortment of flats, and of course, you know the other main attraction.

Seaside parks are slowly becomming a thing of the past so appreciate them while you can. Nothing like the combination of "beach" and "wood coaster". They go together like peanut butter & jelly!

And the view of the Atlantic when you crest the lift hill of Swamp Fox is one of those views you will always remember.

And best of all, I WILL BE THERE NEXT SATURDAY!
Anyone care to share some rides with me let me know.

I agree with you both about F.K. It was never meant to be a Theme Park but rather a Fair atmosphere.

Swampfox, I might just take you up on that offer. That is if the 17th is what you are talking about.

Yes, the 17th. I am going down Friday night and leaving Sunday morning.
Gotta get back in time for the Panther kick-off.:P

I'll probably be at FK around 8pm. I may go get a 1pm ride when they open just to get it out of my system but I prefer to do most of my Swamp Fox riding in the evening when she picks up some good speed.

Hey, wouldn't it be neat to get a bunch of enthusiasts down there this Saturday. We could do a Swamp Fox TAKEOVER!!!!!

Yeahhhhhhhh!!!!!!
