Did anyone know of the changes to the Hurler changes. They either got new ones or really modified the old ones. There is no flaming paint on the sides and you can now wear seatbelts, but you still have the regular restraints. I don't wear the seatbelts because they prevent the airtime. I have no idea if it's actually optional wearing seatbelts, but the staff did not question me. I refuse to wear seatbelts on a coaster that did not have them before.

If the seatbelts are there, you are required to wear them. They aren't optional - it is now part of the restraint system. I do not see the big deal everyone has with seatbelts, I can't even feel the difference.

The seatbelts prevent you from experiencing the hang-time on the ride. As long as I don't have to wear them I will be happy.

lol lol you said hang time...............you'll realize why those seat belts were there when the force of going over the floater hills wrecks the restraint and it pops loose (never happen yet but it can. Just like in a car...........your not required to wear your seatbelt, the car will start without it, however if an accident happens then your prone to fly out the windshield.

People who dont follow park rules should be banned for the theme park world FOREVER!!

CarowindsThrills, I am sorry to burst your bubble, but Hurler doesn't have the airtime it used to. Even with the seatbelts, you get the same sensation. No need to be a rebel now, your only spiting yourself. :)

Hey, say what you want. I'm being a rebel. I don't see any requirements around saying that the seatbelts are required. I think they're just there for people who are uneasy on the coaster.

By the way, why doesn't TR have seatbelts? You get as much air as Hurler.

LMAO...you have no idea how hard that made me laugh because of an inside joke among my friends in my neighborhood.

It's not good to be a rebel when it comes to your safety. Why not just ride standing up on top of the seat with no lapbar? That's being a rebel as well.

You have to be Crazy by bragging that you do not wear a seatbelt because it affects your airtime or as you call it "Hang Time".

First of all who died and left you in charge the I am so high and mighty that I do not have to wear a seatbelt cause I am cool? Last I looked when you buy a ticket or use that season Pass then you agree to the rules of that said park which means if there are seatbelts on a said coaster than you shall wear it since it is part of that park's rules for riding. So I guess you are telling use that you are above the park rules? If you are then please explain it in term of how and why?

Secondly, do you even have the slightest idea of what took place earlier this year at Holiday World when someone that decided to ride a the Raven without the seat belt fasten? Well incase you did not than allow me to give it to in the skinny version that I think will get a point accross. She flew out of the coaster to her death. You get the point there mr. I refuse to wear a seatbelt?

It is people like you that give the rest of us who enjoy going to the parks a bad name. It only takes one bad apple to ruin the bunch and you are that bad rotten apple.

Have a nice day.

The Hurler was originally manufactured with seatbelts. I was on vacation this summer when they installed them and when I got back we had to retrain the entire crew. THey were a pain. If any of you have ridden it since they were put on then you know what i am talking about. Thunderroad will have them put on this winter. We went from doing forty trains per hour to 23. That was terrible, but they took so long. I see more problems coming with the new roller coaster too. There are height and weight restrictions that will be strictly enforced. 6'5" and 265 lbs those are the restrictions. I am 6'7" and am kindof mad about them, but since I work there usually they can find a way to get me on.

I worked the Hurler last season and I can just imagine how much longer it would take to get the trains out of the station. The days of getting the train ready before the buzzer are over unfortunately. And for Thunder Road, that's going to be a real capacity killer on busy Saturdays. About the new ride, you said that the restrictions for weight is 265 lbs. I wonder what they will use to determine an overweight rider. I know that Drop Zone has a little red light.

Yes I noticed the flames were gone. But after all Wayne's world is gone also.
I liked the seat belts. It made absolutley no difference in the way the Hurler road this year. I still got my air time and like the fact the Carowinds is stepping up to the plate for safety instead of waiting for an accident.

THe seat belts make no difference to the ride, I wear mine a little loose and I still practically get the same airtime. B)
