I'm just curious if they'll move into the employee parking area? That would really give them some room!

Also, the Abyss is the oldest slide in the waterpark so I think it will stay unless it is in the way.

Wouldn't that be more of a reason for it to go?

I actually thought the employee parking area would be where they'd expand first, since they should be able to move that to the abandoned campground fairly easily. That might still be an option to really expand the waterpark, or they might hold that for a future expansion.

I like the idea about integrating WWF into the waterpark, so it could be ridden in swimsuits instead of regular clothes. It might still require shoes though, so not sure if that'll happen. If they do integrate it, they should try to maintain an entrance accesible from the "regular" park for those times when the waterpark isn't open, but it's still hot enough to ride a water ride.

Hopefully the "coming soon" press release will give us a hint or two about what exactly we'll be getting, and where all of it might go.

im thinking that they could also incorporate FSS as part of the new boomerang bay, as it would now be classified as a water park w/ a coaster....

this would mean that they could have three gates, one to RFD/Borg path, one to Country Fair (aforementioned) and the one to Carolina Boardwalk, and connect a path behind Wings for when the waterpark is closed.

This makes sense because the park will be able to get rid of half the RFD section [not have to revamp] that's only games and a restaurant, and incorporate FSS into the water expansion. Putting changing facilities, etc. here would also open up room in the heart of the waterpark for slides, etc...

The Waterworks-Frenzoid-WWF areas would then not be a dead end, but a large area, which in the summer would allow for plenty of flow, and in the spring/fall, allow a path to cut right across into carolina boardwalk.. It would also complete the area instead of making T-shaped, which i think would look cooler.....

Anyways, with all this we'd sure have a really nice waterpark....

Also, wings could be rethemed into an Outback Steakhouse... fits the theme, no?

and now for that press release..... :D

oh and almost forgot, i bet Abyss is on the chopping block...

it stands right in the middle of the space between the now gone Frenzoid and Waterworks, the other obstacle being that picnic table area beside the WWF turnaround. This means, to really incorporate that area, i bet we can say goodbye to that slide... (i dont think i'll miss it too much....)

HEY CAROWINDS!! If your having trouble making a decision on which slides to add let me help you out a little...

Image
This would be pretty cool and its an instant hit w/ the family (just ask the folks at PKI), and hey...you can even have another family raft slide!

Image
Igmore the slides to the left the focus is on the probowl slides. They are fun and the teens will eat this up!

Still with me...ok, good!

Image
These are a capacity eater enough said...

Image
And this right here, heck you can even dub it a "waterslide" coaster!

And speaking of water coasters....

Image
Now adding one of these would really put the park on the map!

Call me if you need help!

Me either, I could spend days instead of hours with all that.

Like someone said before i hope we get the PKI version and not the PGA.

Maybe the PC version with alot more that PKI.

The press release has been approved. The cat will be out of the bag on Wednesday.

Let the complaining begin then...

I just got all the Scarowinds info.

Well I have to admit that I have allways wanted to ride the funnel in the BB at PKI. I might just have to go ride the water park rides next year for the first time.

You know, Roller, I wasn't going to dignify your post with a response but I said what the heck..

The info I get is from the park. They can't help that a press release gets held up in upper red tape. They would have loved to have had the info out sooner but things don't exactly happen they way they'd like to at times.

Maybe when you get out in the real world and learn how a business actually runs, then you'll see how things operate.

I don't see this happening. That means that RFD will be a dead end except for the summer months, making the games section there virtually useless. The only ride back there would be WWF, and that surely won't generate any sort of traffic during the spring and fall. Even if it did, that means if you are in RFD you have to go all the way back to the front gate to get to the Carolina Boardwalk - making Carolina Boardwalk a dead end as well.

And I don't think you could try and go around FSS. Its exit ramp backs right up to the giant fence that has the Goldrusher's tunnel behind it. On top of this, the park still runs FSS without water during early spring and late fall, and if it were in the waterpark, guests wouldn't be able to ride it.

Heck the park runs FSS in the dead heat of Summer with the water off as well

It's a water ride right?
