Okay, I'll be nice...which usually happens about every 28 days...it means they're not through spending money for 2006.

Yeah, they definitely didn't need a waterpark expansion.

It's only be upgraded twice in the last 15 years, but nope, they certainly didn't need it!

Recent trends have shown waterparks draw in crowds more than any other attraction, but I guess they didn't really need it.

So sure, I guess you have a good point. They should have added something they needed, like a hyper coaster.

If water paks are americas hottest thing going now and is what draws people in then someone must not have told Carowinds this.

I think the GP will be fooled for now but when they walk into the new waterpark next year everyone will be like, Oh......... Is this it? What a ripoff.

I agree with that statement.

It's a remodel of the waterpark with a few extra slides/features, so why not. They're saving more money that way so they can introduce something even larger in the next years. They saved money with Borg/Stealth and now they're saving money with the waterpark remodel. Not to mention the small cost of the nickelodeon rides. That's like 3 years worth of beating the costs of putting something entirely new in. They're playing it pretty smart from a business standpoint! When you have assets you can use from other parts of your company, sometimes it will save you a lot. Not that I'm trying to disprove anyone's disatisfaction or anything, but look at Disney. I work in Orlando here and because Everest is costing so much they decided to pull other attractions from across the world, put them here and have them go along with the 50th celebration. The marketing made sense, people get to experience more new rides, the company saves money from building new technology, and they get to focus on a gigantic project like Everest that's never been done before on that scale.

Carowinds has changed a lot since the mid 90s so I think it's pretty cool to see it all transform into something a lot more themed than before. When I went back and visited last August I was impressed by the new changes in the past years and even though I'm used to riding the Hulk coaster down the road, Top Gun still had a thrill quite different with its flying fighter jet feeling. Carowinds is going to be awesome in the next coming years. Unfortunately it requires remodeling each section year after year, and the park needs it!

It isn't Carowinds no more, Carowinds saw it's end in 1989 when RipTide Reef opened. It has turned into Parawinds - The boneyard of Paramount Parks. Yes, the used rides we have got in the past two years are good ones but still, we are turning into the AstroWorld of Paramount Parks. By 2015, I see Carowinds starting to lose it's appeal.

The Anti-Moronâ„¢ software on my PC went crazy when I started to read your post Rollernuts. I am refering to your latest discharge of plebeian verbiage; in which, you have proven, once again, that there is no such thing as unutterable nonsense. Dullard, do yourself and everyone else a favor: disconnect your computer from the Internet.

But I could have sworn that RollerNut said he would NEVER complain about Carowinds again, but I guess he is back to his old bashing self once again. If you do not like Carowinds as much as you complain and you whine about rip off this and cheap season pass that, then why the heck don't you just stay the heck away from there. You are sometimes worse than my three year old cousin.

What I find funny is that you talk one heck of a game about how you would save Carowinds from as you say falling to pieces, but you have no idea what capital improvements are. What college is it you go to again so I can warn people not to waste there money on buying a degree overnight.

I am sure afew people that work for the park are enjoying your replies. You seem to be one of those Urban Legends. I do admit that you are one entertaining person who has selected memory lose. I can only hope your reply will be full of knowledge and the great wisdom that only seems to come from you mind.

In closing, why don't you put your glasses on backwards and walk into yourself?

I totally disagree with you.

Have you been to any of the other Paramount parks?

PKI and PKD both as far as I'm concerned have fallen below PC in every way. Sure PKD has great coasters, but the park is not as nice anymore.

PC blows both of those parks out of the water in operations as well IMO.

As Dave said, if you hate he park so much why do you go? And while you're at it why do you come to these boards?

You act like you're all big and bad but then you act like an 8 year old that doesn't get his way.

And AWAYAYAYAYAAAAA WE GOOOOOOOOOOOO...

The upgrade for the waterpark is warrented just as the upgrade to Nick Central was warrented... at least, from a park management perspective. It's important to remind ourselves that what we want vs. what the GP wants is often not the same thing. Sure, I would love to have a big, shiny mega-coaster added to Carowinds too but that plan may not be the best business choice for Carowinds right now.

There isn't any doubt that water parks are growing in popularity every year and Carowind's water park has suffered from upgrade neglect over the years. The way I see it, this is a great opportunity for Caro to become one better in an area that has sorely needed some attention.

"The boneyard of Paramount Parks"? ... Hardly. I do not agree with every recent step taken by Paramount and or Park Management over the last 5 years but overall they have treated Carowinds very well. Caro is arguably a better balanced park than PKD and as for PKI, well, just ask Dave what he thinks of that park's quality recently!

We have a varied and large selection of coasters. Borg was a fantastic addition that transformed the image of the park while providing a huge influx of attendance. The following year saw the flyers arrive bringing a classic, historic ride to the park as part of an upgrade to the childrens area and lets not forget the addition of the Dutchman ride! It is sensible that the water park area would get some attention bringing it closer to the standards set in the other areas of the park.

It is almost certain that Carowinds will see a boost in attendance and residual spending by making this upgrade. Isn't this what we want for the park? After all, if a small investment now leads to a large return later, it generates future capital for the park that can be invested in larger projects (like Hyper Coasters) in the future.

I say we embrace the change. Hey, I think it would be a great idea to base some ERT around the water park and the new slides especially if it's going to be 100 degrees again! :)

Just my 1 cent worth

Do I have to remind you that you said that you werent gonna talk bad about the park....

I don't think anyone was complaining about the BB update idea, but the way it was implemented is rather weak comparitively. A new kiddy slide and lagoon? Not much of an upgrade. Sure, waterparks are where the money comes in. I definitely think we should have gotten the waterpark upgrade as well... just a better one like PKI. It really depends on how Carowinds markets this one as well. MANY people were angered by the misleading marketing last year (listing so many new attractions and the size upgrade), hopefully they won't feel the same this year when they say we're getting a waterpark upgrade...

I was just looking at B.B. via Google Earth and wondered if they are going to move any of the slides around or will the be remain where they are?
