I don't recall any ornaments (assuming you mean on the skytower.) I just remember the lights that were strung down to the ground and the Paramount stars on top.

Wait..there were those illuminated boxes, which might have been ornaments at the base of the tower. It might have been what the lights were attached to.

Last night was fun. The parking lot couldn't have been more than 1/4 full. Probably less.

I'll try and get my pics up later in the week some time.

Overall I liked Winterfest.

The problem was that I just went to Dollywood last Saturday and Dollywood blew Carowinds out of the water in about every respect.

The water and light show was WAY better and Dollywood. Dollywood's show was a lot better than the cheesy one at PC. You get the picture.

I'm not saying PC did a bad job, it just could have been better.

I got 2 flyer ride, 2 Top Gun Ride, 1 Scrambler (with "snow") ride, we waited too long to go over and ride Dora's train  :( ;) Oh and we stopped off at Cinnabon. Mmmmmmmmmmmm.

We had fun, it got quite cold about 9 so I was glad when 10 finally rolled around and I could get in my warm car.

See ya again next year PC :)

It's only the first season. It will get better with age.

I think this year is impressive all ready. Of course, the ice rink was a surprize(sp?) but I don't ice skate. I don't want to break anything. I just we get to keep Winterfest this time.

Are the Dora train and the Scooby Doo Haunted Mansion changed for Christmas??

Dora appears to be dressed up a bit, but Scooby is exactly the same.

They could have at least put Santa hats on Scooby. lol

Oh and the Ice Rink was way too small, and the music at Holiday Illuminations or whatever it's called was WAY TOO LOUD!!!

I was going this weekend but things came up. From what I heard PKI is hurting because they planned for 15,000 for fri & sat but only 2,000 for fri and 3,500 came sat. The even had to cut back on some hours of employees because they didnt need them. Personally I blame it on high admission prices but what do I know about running a park!

Ouch! I hope it's not too crowded when I go, but I don't want the parks to suffer from no one going.

I second most of what Wes said about WF. I had a great time and think the park has done a great job with it overall. The music at the water & light show had our eardrums bleeding from the beginning. WAY too loud... it was just crazy. The scrooge puppet was awesome and I really enjoyed the theatre show. The decorations were very well done. The restrooms looked better than ever! :D The hot chocolate was really good.

We were provided with an unexpected bonus when Jonathan decided he would consume an entire block of fudge, a HUGE cinnabon and cup of Hot-Chocolate all within about a 10 minute span. He was pinging on sugar like a crazy man. I don't even think he could think straight on the scrambler ride! "cinnabon.... being.... rejected.... uhhhh...."

TG and Flyers were great! We caught some awesome breezes on the Flyers and were able to snap away. Those that think they have slowed them down are off the mark IMO. I believe they are running them just as fast as opening day.

Thanks to everyone who came along: John, Jonathan, Jay, Wes, Mike, Sue, Catherine... Barb and I had a great time with you guys.

Video is forthcoming... I promise it won't be long! B)

Last night I and a guy that is in town from Indiana went out to Winterfest.

There was no one in the park.

It was awesome. We got like 20-25 rides on the flyers. We were on there for the last ride of the night as well.
