Although this is somewhat "old" news, a little more information appeared today in this newspaper.
Competition for Carowinds?
Hmmmmm......

see article <a href='http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3189661,00.html' target='_blank'>here</a>.

Maybe it was in that article that was posted. Since you did not read it, then I will post the answer to what you just asked:

"The project will be erected in the Myrtle Beach area, one of most popular tourist sites in the U.S., which spreads across 44 miles and boasts more than 500 hotels. The region, which hosts about 14 million tourists every year, is desperate for attractions of this kind, and a group of investors has already been working on the park for five years now," Cohen said.

lol! or gravity group......

though maybe not:
"The park in the U.S. is also set to be a theme
park for families, with the theme being music."

furthermore, their other park, is more of a disney-type attraction: a resort w/ pools, 3d movie, boat rides w/ extensive theming, etc.... no coaster or thrill flat... so although the park in myrtle will be much larger in scale and investment (more then 8x more invesment capital then the Eilat park)... it looks like they'll be focusing more on theming and families then the actual thrill rides... i could be wrong

This is the Hard Rock Park that is going where most of the old Fantasy Harbor Outlet malls are (or use to be). I am not sure how far along construction is currently, but I do know it was originally suppose to be open 2006. Guess that is not happening. lol

In the original plans there was a coaster in the plans.

" Although amusement parks are not part of the companies' portfolio, Pini Cohen, Africa Israel's CEO, and Avigdor Kelner, Polar's CEO and president, have decided not to miss this roller coaster opportunity.

Great potential "

Hmmm, am I the only one who read this? Roller Coaster Opportunity

i didn't catch that!

i also noticed its a proposed 150 acres! That's a big park (but it's also proposed to have retail/hotel/etc built on, but still, it could be half of carowinds when you subtract the parking lot and the complex! that's huge!

maybe they'll have the Carolina's second hyper coaster (assuming a post 2007 opening of the park of course B) )

Just keep wishing is all I am going to say about your wish for a hyper. I wonder if this new park could have it going under a bridge so that the some parts of the former rumours will come to light.
