Something's up. PKD has removed FOF from it's website. It's more than likely because their rethemeing it to MTV next year and introduce it as a new coaster. Or ..........!

The MTV theming makes sense, but wouldn't they close the one in Kings Island to do this as well?

I really don't think this means anything. PKD is getting a freakin coaster next year. I doubt they'll start another major project.

I thought the same think but i guess maybe PKI's is going to rethemed in 2007. Maybe their just doing one to see how well it goes over with the public then do PKI's.

Of course the other issue is the theming. FoF was a stretch fitting in the first place, but MTV really seems out of place in the Congo area. Unless a new land/area is coming next year and MTV retheme is just a small part of the expansion. hmmm

I could see them just re-themeing the entire area to a Thrill Zone type since Volcano, TR and FOF are there.

I doubt that (or at least I really hope not); Volcano, Tomb Raider, and Anaconda all fit the Congo theme very well. Not sure about Avalanche, though.

I can't wait to hear the reports from opening day at PKD. Wonder if there will be any sign of the FOF theming still there or if its gone.

I saw on one site where this guy claimed to be an assistant rep for that area and contacted the park about FOF. He said that it was closed for a retheming. In typical X-Files fashion, the post has vanished.

I'd rather see them keep the current theme and just spruce it up. Add more stuff in the spaghetti bowl. That's where it should really be themed.

I just hate to see it get an MTV makeover and have the riders subjected to whatever flava of the month rapper or teenage bimbo is hot at the moment.

Well with all the rumors of PKD and PKI tearing theirs down and shipping them to 2 of the other parks it makes me wonder if we are destined to be the red head step child of the chain. “Always a bride maid and never a bride.”

I personally agree that they should just be re-themed and left as is but you never know. They may already have plans for 2007 and need that space. But, we all know how plans get changed at the last minute and now with the sale imminent will the plans for 2007-2008 season still go on or get snuffed?

Maybe it simply cost too much for a park to operate 4 launched coasters. PKD may justify the move of FoF simply on their power bill alone.

As many of you may remember, when Volano:TBC opened, there were quite a few rollbacks because the power sub station simply wasn't enough for both FOF & V:TBC. They ended up having to build a separate sub-station just to run both the launchers.

Now, with IJ in the mix, the cost of operating these 3 launchers along with Hypersonic would be one heckuva power bill.

This is just a top-of-the-head theory that I came up with. I realize it has NOT been confirmed that FoF will be leaving PKD, but.....a little bird told me that it may be headed up north and I know for a fact bids were placed for its relocation.....OK there! I said it! I promised I wouldn't Max!! Now, I have 30 minutes to edit this post.......
