Hey I found some cool old pictures of Carowinds. Not sure if any of you guys have viewed these pictures before, but they are new to me.

I think they edited it yesterday to give credit to swampfox. I don't remember seeing it before.

That's a cool link.

It's funny, we've had 3 flying dutchman rides in the history of the park!

The Flying Dutchman
Borg ( A flying dutchman coaster)
Flying Dutchman's Revenge

I never knew there was a trolley in the park!?!

I wonder what happend to it. It'd be neat if they could find it and run it on the Charlotte trolley line.

I always wondered why Pirate Island was called Pirate Island. I never knew it used to be an actual 'island', and even had a Pirate Ship. I miss Blackbeard's Revenge...

Wes, the trolley was removed in the early 70s. I have heard that track can still be seen today but have yet to find any. Pirate Island wasn't actually an island, it was connected like our BORG "Island" is now.

I remember seeing some rails back in '98, before that area got a renovation in '00.

Some of these comments in the thread on that forum is down right funny:

"I work at Carowinds, and I was told that the borg was sinking into the ground at great america making it unstable, so paramount had to move it."

(Maybe if Cedar Fair buys the park, they'll send Magnum down here!)

"Does anyone want to be on a list with Astroworld?"

(Why? Did they close or something?)

Who said that, the sinking jokes are so lame.
