Well, Jarvis, I tried again today to get you passed off as my twin. But, the "right hand woman" said I was too tall and it would never work. And to think we look so much alike :D

I wonder if the park has gotten their 30 sets of twins yet.

No. They're still working on the TR anniversary event.

We were busy talking about other things.

As long as they can ride Thunder Road, they'll be fine. Just sent me an email and I'll send you some info on it. mcannon@aceonline.org

Thanks!

The park is also looking for people who rode TR in it's first year. My parents rode when it opened.

Article in this morning's Charlotte Observer about Thunder Road's 30th anniversary. Our own swampfox was interviewed for the article.

It was a very fun (but *brr*cold*brr*) morning. They had two cakes there. one had Thunder Road from when it first opened. The other had our current version of it. Of course, there were all the twins. The highlight had to be the 30 ride marathon but it wasn't all just the twins. Others could ride it too. After about three or four times in the front row on the forward side, I just knew I'd be sick for another month. TR was running really well for it being so early in the season.

Check out Channel 9 for possible footage of it. I saw Natividad being interviewed by one reporter from there. News 14 and I think Channel 3 were there too I think. I know I spoke to a Winthrop College reporter and then came home and got a call from a reporter from the Rock Hill paper.

Saw plenty of dirt too next door :)

Just a few photos from the event. Nothing really spectacular.

Great photos Max!

Question: Is there any word on whether the park plans on replacing the sign at the top of the lift hill? I'd love to see a nice "HAPPY 30th" sign up there.

PS: Please hold off on the emails, phone calls, and stalking. My newfound celebrityism is too much to handle in my old age.

Coasterbruh! Give me some pointers! How do you avoid these masses of autograph wanters?
:P
