Just wanted to let any of you carnival freaks know that Reithoffer Shows has set up a small carnival at Carolina Place Mall. Since the mall is only a few miles from Carowinds, there may be at least 2 rides worthy of making a side trip for all you opening day trippers.

There is a new ride called SPEED. Looks like a giant single arm ferris wheel with a 4 car seat (I think) on each end.
There is a picture of it <a href='http://www.reithoffershows.com/whats_new.htm' target='_blank'>here.</a>

On the same page you can see the FREAK OUT, which is also there and the AVALANCHE which I believe was pulling into the parking lot as I left.

I also noted a Wave Swinger, Tornado, and there were several other rides being assembled.

Speed looks like a Skyscraper, a ride that I wish would go in at Carowinds. They're really quite fun.

Wonder how long they'll be there? *Duh* I just looked at the website. They're there until April 2nd. Looks like there will be a set up in Hickory from the 30th to the 9th.

I hope one of these will be there: <a href='http://www.reithoffershows.com/Coaster2.jpg' target='_blank'>http://www.reithoffershows.com/Coaster2.jpg</a>

I'd actually get a credit on opening day after all. lol

Too bad they don't count in our count on CF. :(

I drove by there yesterday.

No coaster. Looks like they have one of the small frisbees (can't remember what that model is called), a small wave swinger, caroussel, speed the ride, slides, himmalaya and a few other things.

The "frisbee" is the only thing that interests me since I've never been on one that faces inwards, just the giant outward facing model.

They open at Noon tomorrow.

Wow, they didn't bring the Flitzer? (coaster in photo, its an Anton)

I actually have that credit (the one in the pic), as Reithoffer does our state fair every year, fairly decent midway. I got that credit a long time ago, and a few times since.
