What are they doing by the old entrance of Hurler

And if that was clear as mud ;) they moved the entrance to be beside the exit pathway. They are putting a go kart track inbetween Hurler and the skycoaster.

So they cut off the old line at the (hall of gum) and now it goes out the other way with the exit path.

Hurler was running great yesterday despite the cold temps.

Yes, we have a new "Gum Wall". All I have to say is, Don't put no gum on it, you can think about it but don't do it.

When will you ever learn? Did you know that some people will do it because someone said not to? Now where is it that you go to school at so I can warn people?

i was wondering what they were going to do with the old gum wall? It's a historic piece of historic stuff, they should mount it inside the station, or in some carowinds museum thing.

If not, they should auction it off at C3. i'll bid on it.

If still not, can you guys like at least scrape all the old gum off and save it in like a ziplock bag or something, it would save a few bucks to reuse that instead of buying new packs at the store. k? thanks

Besdies, the gum wall on the return trip of the gold rusher is much worse.

We noticed that yesterday. I bet a lot of it has been there for 30 years.

Got up there today for some rides, and Hurler was running extremely well considering the temperatures. It looked like the remaining turns got some new wood to match the first turn, and the train tracked smoothly the entire eay around.

I'm really, really looking forward to some summer nighttime rides. This thing should be incredible if it stays this smooth, as it just won't lose much speed the entire way around. Very impressive considering how bad it was a few years ago when the season started - slow, rough, and jackhammering through every turn losing so much speed by the end it barely seemed to make it back to the station.

I also really like the new entrance - it'll make re-rides MUCH easier. I liked my first trip of the day through the old line, as you got to see the train fly by on the airtime hills, but that walk got old quick.

While I'll probably rarely ride the go-karts, it's good they're getting something else in the area to liven it up some. I wanted a Delerium, but something is better than bare asphalt.

Other things I noticed - the Subway is gone (building is still there) and Kaleidoscope got a new entrance. Thunder Road's entrance was modified, with the railing dividing the forward and backwards sides mostly removed. They also removed some of the fence at Top Gun's exit, so you can walk straight out without going towards the gift shop. Yeah, you could before by squeezing around the fence and the vendor cart there, but now it's easy.

Count me in as another fan of the changes to Hurler's line. I almost never re-rode the thing because of that huge walk. The far turn has needed retracking for the last 2 or 3 years, and it has really improved after the work they did on it. The train glides through that turn without losing much speed now, so the two hills after it have the airtime that they did 4 years ago.

And RollerNut is sitting here looking at ya'll like ya'll are crazy after his ride on Hurler yesterday. As far as I seen from the que, Carowinds cleaned off the old gum wall. Hurler was riding rougher than Meanstreak opening day. Thunder Road felt like it was going to fly off the turnaround sideways. Both rides were running fast so they have good airtime.

I rode after 7 when it was getting cold. My guess is the cold causes the ride to get rougher.

I dont know what to tell ya roller but hurler was yea still "rough" but it was a good rough not a damn this this broke my back rough. True indeed the first drop into the turn around is still an area where you have to brace yourself but after that man the ride flys. Between riding the cyclone and going straight to hurler my friend said he had to walk around some before getting on another ride because his stomach was hurting lol lol. But between hurler, cyclone, and thunder road carowinds has alot of air time to be recieved!!
